Students Corner: What Students miss when they fail to use School's Medical Facilities  Lasustech Medical Centre Photo: Safiu Kehinde  Gbadegesin Paul We took a survey to ask students what they do when ill; Visit the school’s medical center, go back home for parental or hostel mate attention or self medicate by purchasing drugs through pharmacy counters? Unfortunately, over 70% stay away from the medical center, which is one of the safest and cost effective of options. Upon admission into the institution, no student is exempted when it comes to school medical fees, filling the medical forms and submission for signatory at the medical center. However, most students exempt themselves when it comes to using the facilities. The only frequent time students use the center is when they have emergency cases, which leads to them being rushed to the school’s medical facility. I have used the school’s health facility on several occasions, and the class of treatment gotten would cost a wh...

Students Corner: Things You Should Know Before Choosing Comradeship Photo Source: Facebook Gbadegeshin Paul   The popular saying, "to whom much is given, much is expected," is best encountered when you assume a leadership position. If this position in quote happens to be what several others also wanted, then get set for a great adventure. Comradeship or being a comrade comes with fame, and juicy offers to those who know it's onions, likewise levels of woes when you misplay your cards. Active comrades are one most popular students on campus, and this gives them levels of honour wherever they appear. At the other hand, an inactive comrade just fills the space and create lapses in their offices. Recall one of the popularly addressed comrades in Nigeria, Comr. Adams Oshiomole, former leader and advocate of The Nigeria Labour Congress, now current member of Nigeria's ruling party APC. For Olasupo Adegbola, a final year Accountancy student, the appointment of the new VC is unquestionable as the Institution is State-owned and a...

Opinion  Gentle Reminder to our “Daddy that also listens” Photo: Independent Newspaper  Safiu Kehinde Couple of weeks ago, the entire staffs and students of Lagos State University of Science and Technology stood agog for the visit of His Excellency, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The ‘Welcome Mr. Governor’ banner erected few metres away from our now famous Helipad at the College of Technology defiled all breezy odds as it awaits the arrival of the governor. Good number of students loitered around with the hope of catching a glimpse of their Daddy. However, their hopes were dashed as the Governor forfeited our little welcome party, carrying us on handicap- in campus parlance, to go straight to the business of the day which was supervision of the ongoing Senate Building construction and the Publicity that follows as usual. The students, however, reminded Mr. Governor that they never loose guard as they trooped into the site, rendering an impromptu welcome address which must have...
