Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) is preparing to host its 2nd Research, Innovation and Development Fair (LRIDF 2026) on Thursday, 26th November 2026, in a major push to turn academic research into practical solutions that can drive Nigeria’s economy.
The fair, which will hold at the 700-seat capacity auditorium of the College of Applied Social Sciences, Ikorodu Campus, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., is themed “Innovation to Industry: Leveraging Market-Ready Research in Nigeria.” Its sub-theme focuses on how automation can help transform research findings into market-ready products that support national economic development.
Organisers say the event is designed to move research beyond the classroom and laboratory by creating a platform where innovative ideas can meet industry needs. Participants will showcase research projects, prototypes, inventions, and technological solutions, while also exploring opportunities for collaboration with industry players and investors.
Beyond exhibitions, the fair is expected to spark important conversations on how universities can better contribute to national development through commercially viable research. It will also provide networking opportunities for researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders who are interested in turning ideas into impactful solutions.
Researchers and innovators have been invited to submit abstracts of original work linked to the theme of the fair. The deadline for submission is Friday, 6th November 2026. Quality papers that pass the peer-review process will be published in the next volume of LASUSTECH Journals.
However, registration for the fair is currently ongoing. Interested participants can register and upload their abstracts through the official portal at https://lasustech.edu.ng/researchfair2026/. The university is calling on staff, external researchers, and industry stakeholders to take part in what promises to be a significant gathering for innovation and development.
