LASUSTECH to Graduate Pioneer Students at Maiden Convocation

Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) is set to graduate 1,364 pioneer undergraduate students at its maiden convocation ceremony scheduled for 2027.

The graduands known as the IMPACT Pioneers, were admitted following the institution’s transition from Lagos State Polytechnic to a university on February 2022, and matriculated on March 29, 2023.

The students will receive their degrees across four colleges: Agriculture; Applied and Social Sciences; Basic Sciences; and Environmental Design and Technology, with programmes spanning 25 fields of study.

Their areas of study include: Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Mass Communication, Computer Science, Biochemistry, Estate Management, Urban and Regional Planning, and Building Technology, among others.

During their programmes, the pioneer students received academic and practical training through laboratory work, industry-focused learning, research, innovation and entrepreneurship development.

The Director of Information and Public Relations, Olanrewaju K. Kuye, said the successful completion of the programmes reflects LASUSTECH’s stability, academic excellence and commitment to producing graduates equipped with knowledge and character for leadership.

However, the maiden convocation is expected to attract government officials, industry leaders, traditional rulers, education stakeholders, members of the diplomatic community, alumni, parents and other well-wishers.

The convocation ceremony will mark a significant milestone in LASUSTECH’s history as the university celebrates its first graduating class and its transition from a polytechnic to a full-fledged university.
