LASUSTECH Students Host Entrepreneurship Summit for Future Media Practitioners

Berachah Adetoyinbo Students of the Department of Mass Communication at Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) on Thursday organised the second edition of the Beyond the Degree conference to prepare undergraduates for entrepreneurial opportunities and career success beyond graduation. LASUSTECH Partners Dataphyte Academy for Data Journalism Training

The programme covered data-driven storytelling, infographics, and data visualization, taking participants through the full journalism workflow, from sourcing and verification to analysis and visual presentation using real-world datasets. LASUSTECH Signs MOU With SGH Warsaw School of Economics

In a statement signed by Mr ‘Lanre Kuye of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, LASUSTECH, the agreement was described as part of the university’s efforts to strengthen its international academic presence and expand opportunities for students and staff. The agreement was signed on Monday, 11 May 2026, at the SGH campus in Warsaw by LASUSTECH Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya, and SGH Rector, Professor Piotr Wachowiak. NUESA Marks Student Week With Community Outreach

Ogbonnaya, Shakiru Samuel Students of the Nigeria Union of Engineering Students Association (NUESA), Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) Chapter, have carried out a community service exercise aimed at giving back to the College of Engineering and promoting practical engineering solutions within the institution. The exercise, organised as part of the NUESA Student Week programme, involved electrical maintenance works, replacement of faulty sockets and bulbs, repairs of lamp holders, and washing of lecturers’ vehicles within the college environment. Speaking during the exercise, the Head of Department, Engr. LASUSTECH Secures 13 Full Accreditations, One Interim in 2025 NUC Exercise

The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has recorded another major milestone in its academic development, securing full accreditation for 13 out of 14 undergraduate programmes presented during the 2025 accreditation exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC). The remaining programme received interim accreditation, reinforcing the institution’s strong performance across its academic offerings. LASUSTECH Launches Digital Literacy Programme to Empower Ikorodu Traders and Artisans

Ademuyiwa Balikis and Habeeb Ibrahim  The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has launched a digital skills initiative aimed at equipping traders and artisans in Ikorodu with tools to improve their businesses. The programme, titled Digital Literacy for Ikorodu Trade (DLIT), is part of the university’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts and targets participants from Lambo Lasunwon, Araromi, and Okegbegun communities in Ikorodu Local Government Area. Twenty participants were selected following a screening process. The four-week training, which commenced on April 11, 2026, and is scheduled to end on May 2, 2026, is being held at the NITDA Digital Learning Centre on the Ikorodu campus. LASUSTECH Announces Maiden Convocation, Graduating Set as It Marks 4th Founder’s Day

The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) on Monday marked its 4th Founder’s Day with key announcements on student enrolment growth, programme accreditation, and plans for its first convocation ceremony. At the event held at the College of Agriculture Auditorium, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olumuyiwa Odusanya, disclosed that the university’s student population has surpassed 12,600, four years after its transition to a university. The announcement was made by the Director of Student Affairs (DSA), Dr. Ademola Aderogba, during the first engagement meeting of the 2025/2026 academic session. The meeting featured the introduction of Heads of Class (HOCs) and representatives from various departments. Dr. Aderogba addressed issues relating to the academic session and outlined expectations for students. Students Barred from LASUSTECH First Gate Over Safety Concerns

The restriction led to confusion among students, who were subsequently directed by security personnel to use the Second Gate for entry into the campus. Speaking on the development, security officials disclosed that the action followed an incident that occurred around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, when a tension wire was reportedly cut from a pole and fell directly at the entrance of First Gate. According to the security personnel, the fallen wire posed a potential risk of injury, electric shock, or sparks to students and other individuals passing through the gate.
