Students Corner: Things You Should Know Before Choosing Comradeship

The popular saying, "to whom much is given, much is expected," is best encountered when you assume a leadership position. If this position in quote happens to be what several others also wanted, then get set for a great adventure.

Comradeship or being a comrade comes with fame, and juicy offers to those who know it's onions, likewise levels of woes when you misplay your cards. Active comrades are one most popular students on campus, and this gives them levels of honour wherever they appear. At the other hand, an inactive comrade just fills the space and create lapses in their offices. Recall one of the popularly addressed comrades in Nigeria, Comr. Adams Oshiomole, former leader and advocate of The Nigeria Labour Congress, now current member of Nigeria's ruling party APC. His strifes and never give up prowess   gave him the key to governance in Edo state, and the current feats he has achieved. The bottom line is that your successful works at one level of comradeship, open other doors, from there you climb gradually. 

According to Comr. Adebanjo Kazeem, former President National Association Of Ogun State Student, and an executive member at several Islamic Associations in Nigeria for; student politicking, being a student comrade gives you two options [as a student and leader]; face strictly studies and graduate with a good grade, at the detriment of your office and comradeship, or face the comrade office optimally at the dropping of your CGPA. Which would be your option? An effective student comrade is one who can balance academics with his office, and this comes with high leveled discipline and prioritization. Being a comrade or student leader does not imply being superior or above your course mates, it calls for your tactfulness and effective time management. This is a life training which would be useful as you sail on in academics, your work field and the general environ.

In all your activities in school, academic or non academic, ensure you work with a mentor, one who has held the position you aspire to hold, or one has vast experience in student leadership.     Honestly speaking you've said it all, before you pick up any form have a rethink, can you balance the struggle of academics and students leadership, you'll make friends, you'll make frenemies because there's no permanent enemy, you'll cry and laugh but in all Viva aluta ⚡

Students Barred from LASUSTECH First Gate Over Safety Concerns

By Habeeb Ibrahim and Adefeso Precious Students of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) were on Monday morning restricted from accessing the campus through the First Gate, tagged as West Gate 1, due to safety concerns. The restriction led to confusion among students, who were subsequently directed by security personnel to use the Second Gate for entry into the campus. Speaking on the development, security officials disclosed that the action followed an incident that occurred around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, when a tension wire was reportedly cut from a pole and fell directly at the entrance of First Gate.
