Two Kegite Club Members Bag #40,000 Scholarship Award Each

Two Kegite Club (Ilya Lacost) members, Comr. Akinsanya Olamide Wareez and Comr. Bakre Zainab, walked home with a smile on their faces after bagging #40,000 Scholarship Award each at the recently concluded 3-day symposium of the club held at the School of Agriculture lecture theatre.

The scholarship award which was initiated by the club under its education empowerment program was presented by Chief Baiyewu Ayinde Kamal who promised to increase it to ten by next symposium.

Expressing his delight over the award, Akinsanya commended the effort of the Kegite Club for setting up empowerment program.

“It is a great pleasure for me because I could not imagine myself winning the scholarship and I would really say a very big thank you to Ilya Lacost for organizing a such symposium comprising a scholarship award and lots more.” He said.

On his plan on the scholarship, Akinsanya revealed he intend to pay his school with the cash and also for the settlement of other school-related expenses.

“My major reason for applying for the scholarship is to use that in paying my school fees and other payments that are meant to be paid in the school” He added.

Similarly, the second beneficiary of the scholarship, Bakre Zainab, expressed her delight over the award, while disclosing that she will use the money to pay for her school fees, textbooks, and other school-related fees.

“I’m extremely excited, I can say I’m very happy” She said.

Meanwhile, the symposium tagged “Effect of Unity in Diversity in our Society Today” had in attendance, the former Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Service, Lagos State, Chief Samson Ajibade (rtd), who called for unity amid the current crisis within the Club at the National level.

“What is required of us in our different homes, let us do it. By the time we are doing that, especially in our club as it affects us on this particular occasion, gradually we are spreading it. He who is not in charge of his house can’t be in charge of a village. Let the unity in diversity start from us. Let the effect be positive. Let us leave a legacy that people will be happy to build on.” He said.

Also present at the event was Chief Biodun Ojo (PhD) who gave brief history of the Kegite Club as well as the cause of the rift at the National level while delivering his lecture titled “Unity in Diversity in our Society Today: The Kegite Story”.

“Dear respected Comradic Entities, there is a saying that those who make peace impossible, will have strife and troubles inevitable. The National Headquarter of Comradium after many years of complaint about the way the Club have been run and its denigration; the distortion of early history of relationship, the seeming attempt at a more high-handed moves against Us, took a step to preserve its heritage in Her name. Consequently reverted to the initial reason for forming the Club in UNIBADAN and is willing to remain pristine or form ‘just alliances’ with like minds until further notice.” He said

FEDSA-LASUSTECH Assembly Suspends President for One Week Over Misconduct

Habeeb Ibrahim  The It’s Federation of Epe Division Student Divisional Representative Council (FEDSA-DRC) of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has suspended its president, Obadina Habeeb, for one week following alleged misconduct during a parliamentary session. The decision was made during the second physical sitting of the assembly, held on Wednesday, 29th of January, 2025. The suspension, effective immediately, was initially proposed for two weeks by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Edu Shaffi Oladehinde, and seconded by the Chief Press Secretary, Hon.
