Laspotech Press Club Inaugurates New Executives

The Lagos State Polytechnic Press Club has inaugurated its new executives, who will oversee the affairs of the press club. 

The new executives were inaugurated in a ceremony held at the LASUSTECH newsroom, Mass Communication Department, Ikorodu campus. 

The event aimed to uphold the association's history and traditions.

Mr. Samuel Ogunsanya, the staff patron and advisor of the association, counselled the new executives to be dedicated, recognizing the responsibility they hold in ensuring the club's vitality.


Former President,  Nurudeen Adebayo, offered advice to the incoming executives, emphasizing the importance of diligence, commitment, and serving the club with dignity. 


He encouraged them to be thorough reporters, seeking news from various aspects of student life to enhance engagement on their blog.


Sub-Editor, Tolulope Onifade implored reporters to provide accurate reports, emphasizing that inexact reporting may be seen as delinquent. 


Tolulope outlined the qualities of a sub-editor and encouraged the new executives to build their portfolio with quality news stories.


Hannah Idowu, the former content creator, congratulated the new executives and urged them to uphold good conduct and hard work in their roles.



Mariam Rasak, the school presenter, welcomed the executives and highlighted the challenges of the role. 


She stressed the need for hard work, good relationships with studio videographers, and collaboration with newsroom staff.


The newly inaugurated executives of the Laspotech Press Club, including Ibrahim Habeeb Irewole as President, Odeyemi Ibukun as Vice President, Salami Fathiat as General Secretary, Okuneye Elizabeth as Sub-Editor, Adeyemi Oluwanifemi Grace as Editor-in-chief, Olatunji Faidat Omotolani and Aladegbola Queen as Presenters, Bisiriyu Hassan as Circulation Manager, Yahaya Quareebah, Suraju Gabriel Damilare, Akinwunmi Boluwatife, and Ojelabi Opeyemi as Content Creators, Olufuwa Racheal as Treasurer, Abdulrasak Habibat Arike as Social Media Manager, Ibrahim Oluwakemi as Advert Manager, Durojaiye Victor as Graphic Designer, and Ajide Memunat Sholape as Videographer, are poised to uphold the club's traditions and serve with commitment, ensuring accurate reporting, fostering good conduct, and promoting engagement through quality news stories.

Students Barred from LASUSTECH First Gate Over Safety Concerns

By Habeeb Ibrahim and Adefeso Precious Students of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) were on Monday morning restricted from accessing the campus through the First Gate, tagged as West Gate 1, due to safety concerns. The restriction led to confusion among students, who were subsequently directed by security personnel to use the Second Gate for entry into the campus. Speaking on the development, security officials disclosed that the action followed an incident that occurred around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, when a tension wire was reportedly cut from a pole and fell directly at the entrance of First Gate.
