      NAAS Holds 'Back to Farm 3.0'

 The Nigeria Association of Agriculture Students (NAAS) has held its "Back to Farm 3.0" event, themed "Harnessing Agriculture for a Greener Pasture." 


In a vibrant gathering at the faculty of Engineering theatre hall, the program was initiated by MC Gracious, who commenced with an opening prayer session led by NAAS executive, Justice Iyooade Adetunji Muhammad. This was followed by renditions of the National Anthem and the school Anthem.


The event featured notable figures such as Com. Akinloye Abdus sabur, the president of NAAS, Hon. Malik Riliwan Olawale, the NAAS stakeholder chairman '22, and several guest speakers including Mr. Agun Samson (Head of operations Aqua-tech firms), Mr. Osilaja Taofeek (CEO of OSH-T Concept), Dr. Mrs. K.K Agbalaya (HOD), Dr. M.O Ogunbanwo (Dean of College of Agriculture), Com. Surakat Muftadeen (SUG President), and Dr. K.O Sanni (Staff Adviser). These dignitaries came together to discuss the theme, "Harnessing Agriculture for a Greener Future."


Mr. Agun Samson, representing the CEO of Aqua-tech firms, delivered a speech on the topic of fish farming, emphasizing its benefits, conditions, and principles for a successful fish farming business. 


He highlighted how fish farming can create job opportunities and ensure a consistent supply of fish to society, stressing the conditions necessary for a prosperous fish farm.


Mr. Oshilaja Taofeek, CEO of Hush T Concept, addressed the audience and appreciated NAAS and the students for their participation. His speech focused on modernizing agriculture and imparting agricultural knowledge to future farmers to achieve a greener future. 


He stressed the importance of sustainable agriculture and the need for innovation to enhance farming systems while preserving the environment.

Comrade Akinloye Abdus sabur, the president of NAAS, explained that the program aimed to expose students to the realities of the outside world, helping them prepare for their future. 


He emphasized that the event was an annual tradition, driven by the desire to offer students a social platform beyond academics.

The event also included entertainment sessions featuring various artists like House Square from the Agricultural department and Bobby Hot from the Horticultural department. It concluded with an award ceremony, during which all NAAS executives were recognized and commended for their leadership.



The NAAS "Back to Farm 3.0" event in LASPOTECH was a gathering of students and agricultural stakeholders discussing the theme of agriculture's role in a greener future. The event featured informative speeches, entertainment, and recognition of NAAS executives.

FEDSA-LASUSTECH Assembly Suspends President for One Week Over Misconduct

Habeeb Ibrahim  The It’s Federation of Epe Division Student Divisional Representative Council (FEDSA-DRC) of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has suspended its president, Obadina Habeeb, for one week following alleged misconduct during a parliamentary session. The decision was made during the second physical sitting of the assembly, held on Wednesday, 29th of January, 2025. The suspension, effective immediately, was initially proposed for two weeks by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Edu Shaffi Oladehinde, and seconded by the Chief Press Secretary, Hon. Hassan Taiwo Bisiriyu.  However, Hon. Adelaja Azanat opposed the motion, advocating for a lighter punishment, which included a one-week suspension along with an apology letter.
