 Laspotech NULASS Celebrates  “EKO CARNIVAL” in Magnificent Style

The National Union of Lagos state students(NULASS) of Lagos state Polytechnic  (LASPOTECH)  Chapter Celebrates its Annual “Eko Carnival” in an Awe-inspiring way.


The event, held at the school podium on Wednesday 13th of September 2023 featured different cultural groups from different part of Lagos State showcased their presentations featuring the Eyo dance and masquerades performances.


Mrs. Folashade Mistura Olowu Oyebayo, president of NULASS(2016/2017) in her  speech explained  the importance of the Eko Carnival and congratulated  senator Sen. Oduga Fawas for making the programme come into fruition.


Meanwhile Student Union President, Comrade Surakat Muftaudeen, who hails from Epe division delivered an informative speech on how students can be exposed to  regional heritage and culture. 

He expressed his profound gratitude to NULASS executives,students and Guest speakers for gracing the Occasion.

“The upcoming student (currently LASUSTECH STUDENTS) should watch and learn and consult people so as to keep the association running, he said.


In the same vein Nulass President, Sen. Oduga Fawas Olamilekan, The president of Nulass complimented and recognized the outgoing executives for their dedicated efforts in contributing in making the “Eko Carnival” a success. 


He said “Leadership is not an easy job”, I and my cabinet members  faced a lot of challenges in managing and maintaining NULASS".


When asked about the continuity of the association he said, there are plans to meet with the 100 level university after his final year to orientate them on how to keep the association running.

He concluded by giving thanks to God for making the programme come into fruition.

In an interview with Dr. Aderogba, Directorate of Student Affairs, he advised Lagos State students to focus on their studies and make the best of the opportunity given to them.



Com. Hunpe Gabriel, Nulass Public Relations Officer said  “It is a great thing to celebrate and embrace our culture”. He wished the next Administration would be able to do more than what they have done and lastly he was grateful to God that the rain didn’t disrupt the event 



The presence of different tribes representing their respective cultures underscores the significance of the “Eko carnival” bringing together tribes of different cultures to create an atmosphere of harmony and unity among Lagos state students and other states.

Students Barred from LASUSTECH First Gate Over Safety Concerns

By Habeeb Ibrahim and Adefeso Precious Students of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) were on Monday morning restricted from accessing the campus through the First Gate, tagged as West Gate 1, due to safety concerns. The restriction led to confusion among students, who were subsequently directed by security personnel to use the Second Gate for entry into the campus. Speaking on the development, security officials disclosed that the action followed an incident that occurred around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, when a tension wire was reportedly cut from a pole and fell directly at the entrance of First Gate. According to the security personnel, the fallen wire posed a potential risk of injury, electric shock, or sparks to students and other individuals passing through the gate.
