LASUSTECH Management Shuts Down School over Student’s Death Safiu Kehinde The Management of Lagos State University of Science and Technology has shut down its Secondary school over the death of one of its students. In a letter addressed to the general public yesterday and confirmed by the school Public Relations Officer, Dr. Olanrewaju Kuye, the school management made known the decision to shut down the school over the death of 16-year old Dauda Abdulrahmon who was knocked down by a vehicle outside the school premises last month. “The flood is coming” Environmental Biologist Warns Safiu Kehinde An Environmental Biologist, Owolabi Azeez, has, on Friday, raised fresh warning on the possibility of Lagos State experiencing similar flood situation as Benue during his lecture at the departmental day celebration of Lagos State Polytechnic’s Biological Science students. Speaking as the guest lecturer on the theme of the programme, “Biology: The Face of Nature”, Owolabi decried the deteriorating state of nature due to human activities and the consequences, citing the flood situation as example with reference to poor dredging of river Benue. “We have built houses on the river line. New Departments emerge as NUC approves 37 Take-Off Programmes for LASUSTECH (See Full List) Safiu Kehinde Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) have seen the emergence of new departments ahead of the 2022/2023 academic session as the National University Commission (NUC) approved 37 Take-Off Programmes for the Institution. As contained in last week’s edition of LASUSTECH newsflash issued by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, the initial 33 Take-Off Programmes proposed by the institution increased to 37 following the inclusion of Industrial Chemistry, Physics with Electronics, Industrial Mathematics, Zoology, and Botany. The newly included programmes would have made it 38 Take-Off programmes in total, but the removal of Animal Breeding and Genetics reduced it to 37. The sky houses the sun, moon and stars. On a clear day the sky appears blue, at night it appears from very dark purple to black. At night the moon, planets and stars are similarly visible in the sky. Some of the natural phenomena seen in the sky are clouds, rainbows, aurorae, lighting and precipitation. In short, the sky is our window to the Galaxy. Unfortunately, over 70% stay away from the medical center, which is one of the safest and cost effective of options. Upon admission into the institution, no student is exempted when it comes to school medical fees, filling the medical forms and submission for signatory at the medical center. However, most students exempt themselves when it comes to using the facilities. The only frequent time students use the center is when they have emergency cases, which leads to them being rushed to the school’s medical facility.
