In an effort to foster youth participation and engagement in the political sphere, the student representative council (LASUSTECH Chapter) has sought for media engagement ahead of its inauguration ceremony scheduled for 11 of May, 2022.

This include coverage of its activities, educating members (students) on the performance and activities of the SUG and the students representative council.

This became necessary in order to move away from the oblivion, which the activities of the SUG/ the Council has been in the past.

Hosted by the SRC Speaker, Rt. Hon. Asekun Elijah, the programme with the theme, “The Youth; Analytical Approach of Political Intervention in Democratization”, is targeted at laying a foundation of youths participation in political affairs, using the student environment as a building block for such development.



In an era of rapid advancement birthed by young and innovative minds, development-minded societies have shifted their attention into the utilization of youth potentials across every sphere of life. Such development is worth emulating, but it starts with sensitization, education, and engagement of the youths.

Notable speakers slated for the event include the Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission, Hon. Oluwatoyin Gafar Bolowotan, newly elected APC National Youth Leader, Temidayo Israel, APC Lagos State Chapter Youth Leader, Dr. Seriki Muritala, Majority Leader of Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. SOB Agunbiade, Apapa Federal Constituency Aspirant for House of Representatives, Dr. Adedayo Adeshola Samuel, the Chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria (Lagos State Chapter), Comr. Lekan Biliamin Sulaimon-Oba, Prince Yommy SOPITAN - Executive Assistant on Maritime Affairs - Office of the Governor, Lagos State, and Hon. Giwa Ibrahim Adebayo (Realistic Project)

Lagos State University of Science and Technology Student Representative Council beckon all and sundry to grace the occasion.

To this end, a Press Conference is hereby schedule for 9 of May, 2022 by 10:00am at the school’s 500 Seaters Auditorium

NELFUND: LASUSTECH Receives ₦112M, Contradicting Initial ₦7.8M for 82 Students

By Habeeb Ibrahim     The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has acknowledged the receipt of ₦112,057,000.00 (One Hundred and Twelve Million, Fifty-Seven Thousand Naira Only) from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).  The funds were allocated to 1,233 students under the NELFUND student loan program. This announcement contradicts an earlier statement by NELFUND, which indicated that only 82 LASUSTECH students would benefit from a total disbursement of ₦7,853,000.
