Nollywood actress and Film Maker, Sola Kosoko, has advised LASUSTECH students on the need to embrace courtesy and good moral standard.

While narrating her experience at the Students Union Judiciary Council Symposium last week, the actress revealed how she nearly missed her bus, but her frantic wave at the moving bus caught the attention of the driver who halted for her.

“…I waved and the bus stopped for me. I ran into the bus and just went straight to sit. It was getting close to where I will get off the bus so I asked the driver, ‘Please I am going to so so so Bus-stop. When we get there can you tell me?’ He said ‘When I stopped to pick you, did you remember to say thank you?’ I was shocked and immediately it was written all over me that I made a mistake.” She narrated.

She used her experience as an instance to explain the need for students to embrace courtesy in their endeavors.

“Courtesy goes a long way. Please let us always try and put it into practice. It doesn’t take anything from you. It doesn’t make you look stupid or foolish.” She said.

However, she chastised taking her simplicity for granted.

“I’m a very simple human being. But in as much as I can easily say sorry, excuse me, pardon, and all those words, doesn’t mean I will allow you take my simplicity for foolishness or stupidity. When it gets to my boiling time, I will boil. But at the same time, I will quickly call myself back.” She added.

Meanwhile, the actress advised the students to be of good moral standard and avoid being ignorant of things.

Also present at the event hosted by the Chief Judge of institution’s SUJC, Hon. Justice Adeniyi Emmanuel, were former Head of Service, Lagos State, Prince Ogunlewe, NEM Insurance Plc. Mrs. Bolanle Baruwa, Director of Students Affairs, Tpl. Oladayo Ibrahim, and Presidential Candidate if Accord Party, Dr. Christopher Imumolem.
