SUJC Symposium: Student wins N20,000 for Knowing who discovered Penicillin Olanrewaju Joseph A year two student of Lagos State University of Science and Technology Seyitan Temitayo Ayangbola, has won a cash price of N20,000 for knowing who discovered an anti-biotic drug, penicillin, during the Students Union Judiciary Council’s annual symposium on Wednesday. Following a trivia questions session thrown to the students by the Presidential Candidate of Accord Party and the event’s Special Guest of Honor, Dr. Christopher Imumolem, Seyitan, a student from the School of Technology, walked up the podium at the mention of who invented penicillin? His reference to Scottish Physician, Sir Alexander Fleming, earned him the whooping cash price.   Security Operatives walk out   Zenith Bank representatives from Classroom Safiu Kehinde Security Operatives attached to the School of Management and Business Studies (SMBS) allegedly walked out some representatives of Zenith bank from classroom earlier today. The incident which happened at the HND1 class of the Department of Business Administration, saw the representatives blowing hot at one of the security operatives who was also visibly hostile to them. During the face-off, one of the embarrassed representatives was heard mentioning “freedom of expression” as she walked past the security operatives. Speaking to our correspondent,   the bank representative who pleaded anonymity, expressed her displeasure over the security men’s manner of approach. “We’ve been to other schools and never have we experienced something like this.   NAUS Visits DSS, decries unlawful   arrest of students by Security Agencies Safiu Kehinde The National Association of University Students (NAUS) has decried the unlawful arrest of students by security agencies during a courtesy visit by the association’s Campus Monitoring Committee (Lagos Chapter) to the Department of State Service (DSS) on Tuesday. Led by the Chairman of the Committee, Comr. Ifeoluwa Sonoiki, the delegate raised the issue of incessant apprehension of students by security agencies such as EFCC and the Nigerian Police Force. The security agencies, according to the Vice President of NAUS Southwest, Comr. Oladimeji Adesoji, make arrest of students without warrants by the court and evidence showing that they are guilty of the offence. In retrospect to the recent celebration of world women day, women took to the streets, agitating for equal right of existence in the world. Nigerian women didn't leave themselves out of the agitation, as they came out in mass   to express their sadness and grievances over the equal right issue, while so many individuals have seen this agitation as a matter for another day because of the main incidents ravaging women in the country.
