The fight and struggle for equal right in the Society, and by extension, the world at large for the female gender is something that will not cease but continue, until that goal is achieved. In retrospect to the recent celebration of world women day, women took to the streets, agitating for equal right of existence in the world. Nigerian women didn't leave themselves out of the agitation, as they came out in mass  to express their sadness and grievances over the equal right issue, while so many individuals have seen this agitation as a matter for another day because of the main incidents ravaging women in the country.

Just in the early days of 2022, a video surfaced on social media showing two young women allegedly begging for their lives as they were seen being prepared for ritual processes- humans turned to sacrificial lambs. They were stabbed and butchered in cold blood  by some unknown human demons, who have preferred money, material things, and wealth over a soul, over somebody's daughter, sister, wife and future mother.

This incessant killings of young ladies in the quest for garnering riches is becoming a nightmare in Nigerian society. Parents are scared for their daughters; daughters are scared of the unknown. "How did we get here?" is the question in everyone's heart and head at the moment. Just last month, a young lady, Bamishe boarded  a public transit called  B.R.T (Bus Rapid Transit). While hoping to get to her destination safely, she ended up as a victim of this killing. Prior to Bamishe’s incident, three teenagers were caught in Ogun state with an earthen pot containing the burnt head of a young girl. People now barely wake up to a new day without the news of missing persons who are mostly ladies in our Nigerian society.

While canvassing for equal right in politics and other organizations, our women, mothers, sisters and daughters should stand up to this incessant brutal killing of female gender in Nigeria for the quest of wealth, money and fame.  They (women) have the capacity to put an end to these atrocious act rising daily in communities all over the country. If only strong messages can be passed to our law makers in the national and state assemblies. If only the judiciary can stipulate strict measures for offenders. If only strict laws can be introduced to put an end to this menace that is looking forward to cut short the future of our female leaders. Just a good time to voice out about these vicious  killings in Nigeria.
