SRC Denies Threat to Member’s Life

The Students Representative Council (LASUSTECH Chapter) has denied an alleged threat to life of her member following the publication of an unsigned petition against the Council.

In a disclaimer signed by the majority leader of the house, Hon. Sadiq Adams, the Council denied the allegation, which involved a member of the Council, Hon. Wahab Ibrahim, while assuring investigation into the leaked petition.

“It has come to our knowledge that a particular publication is being disbursed around by some unknown entities concerning a false filled allegation within the SRC. We implore the general public and students at large to be calm as such threat to life, claimed in the publication, never existed. The office of the Speaker is where fairness, equity, and justice for every student is of good essence and indeed major priority.

“Immediate investigation will commence on the publication and allegations. The SRC is a place where we agree and disagree to get good results that will be of interest to the entire students of the Institution.

“...Hon. Wahab Ibrahim never threatened any student nor any honorable member of taking his or her life.” The disclaimer read.

An Online publication had, over the weekend, leaked the unsigned petition tagged “From a concerned student and an observer at the Students Representative Council Sitting held 8th September, 2022” with the link, https://lagosbusinessnews.ng/src-lasustech-laspotech-institution-growth-seating-turned-a-threat-to-life/.

The publication showing the leaked and unsigned petition, which was copied to several offices both within and outside the school premises, made rounds across several students platform.

Meanwhile, the school management is yet to react to the situation as at the time of filing this report.

Students Barred from LASUSTECH First Gate Over Safety Concerns

LASUSTECH Announces February 13, 2027, for Maiden Convocation

By Adetoyinbo Berachah The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has announced February 13, 2027, as the date for its maiden convocation. The announcement was made by the Director of Student Affairs (DSA), Dr. Ademola Aderogba, during the first engagement meeting of the 2025/2026 academic session. The meeting featured the introduction of Heads of Class (HOCs) and representatives from various departments. Dr. Aderogba addressed issues relating to the academic session and outlined expectations for students. He presented an overview of academic results across colleges and departments, noting variations in performance. Students were advised to ensure lecturers are invited for scheduled lectures.
