In a vibrant display of unity and enthusiasm, the National Union of Lagos State Students (NULASS) LASUSTECH chapter, embarked on a captivating 3-day tour to Epe, a picturesque town steeped in cultural heritage, sporting fervour, and serene landscapes.


Led by the Oduga Fawas administration, the tour, which took place from Friday, August 11th to Sunday 13th, was a fusion of cultural exploration, sporting rivalry, and leisure to the picturesque town of Epe, unveiling the rich tapestry of Epe's identity.


The adventure commenced with a slight delay on Friday, August 11th, as transportation contingencies were addressed. Despite this hiccup, the tour embarked on its course, setting the stage for an eventful weekend of discovery and celebration.


The tour's first day was dedicated to a vibrant mask party, facilitated by the office of the Social Director, Comrade Nulassite Hassan Zainab Ajoke,, where participants donned various masks, partook in games, and danced to lively tunes of the talented DJ Fountain. 

The atmosphere buzzed with joy as students reveled in the festivities, cementing bonds and creating lasting memories.


Day two kicked off with an electrifying football match between NULASS LASPOTECH and NULASS LASUED, held at the Lagos State University of Education's campus. NULASS LASUSTECH surged ahead with a commanding lead in the first half, courtesy of goals by Adjovi Victor and Olowo Samuel. The LASUSTECH team showcased exceptional teamwork and precision, capturing the audience's attention.


In a dramatic twist, NULASS LASUED mounted a spectacular comeback, turning the tables with a stunning 3-2 victory. Ogundeko Temitayo's crucial goals fueled the reversal, underscoring the spirit of resilience and healthy competition that defined the match.


Post-match, Prince Adeyemi Ogunlari, the Student Affairs Officer and staff adviser to NULASS LASUED, took center stage to commend the remarkable display of sportsmanship and talent demonstrated by both teams. He assured the visiting LASUSTECH players that they would be well cared for during their stay in Epe. 


Prince Ogunlari's words were accompanied by heartfelt praise for the players, underlining the camaraderie and unity that characterize the NULASS community.


Meanwhile, the Lagos State University of Science and Technology,  formerly Laspotech, Students’ Union President, Comrade Muftaudeen Surakat, expressed his delight at the thrilling match and extended his gratitude to Prince Adeyemi Ogunlari for the warm hospitality extended to the LASUSTECH team. Comrade Surakat emphasized the importance of such inter-campus events in fostering strong bonds among students and promoting healthy competition.


As the tour progressed, students delved into Epe's rich cultural heritage. A visit to the king's palace revealed Epe's traditional authority, where the Olu Epe of Epe Kingdom, HRM Oba Shefiu Olatunji Adewale, said Epe is an ancient town, open to developments and also shared insights on socio-economic matters and voiced support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The tour also included a visit to the bustling Oluwo market, where students immersed themselves in the art of fish trading and learned about Epe's economic diversity.
Later on Saturday, the camp was at Ibeju Lekki where the Kegites entertained the students with melodies.



The tour culminated in a serene retreat to Villa Rica beach at Eleko. Attendees revelled in the picturesque surroundings, engaging in activities like swimming and table tennis. This final day of relaxation provided the perfect ending to a whirlwind tour that left participants with cherished memories and a deeper appreciation for Epe's allure.


In a fitting tribute to the diverse experiences and vibrant culture encountered, the NULASS LASPOTECH Epe tour encapsulated the essence of unity, camaraderie, and cultural exploration. As the students bid farewell to Epe, they carried with them a treasure trove of memories that would undoubtedly endure for years to come.


NULASS LASPOTECH's 3-day expedition to Epe remains etched in the annals of student history. A tapestry of culture, sportsmanship, and leisure was meticulously woven, leaving an indelible mark on participants.


 As they bid farewell to Epe's enchanting vistas, students carried home not just memories, but a renewed sense of unity and appreciation for Nigeria's diverse tapestry.

 This tour, a testament to NULASS LASPOTECH's commitment to holistic student development, shall be cherished for years to come.
