In a spectacular display of student talents and a concerted effort to address pressing societal concerns, the second edition of "Lasustech Got Talent" took place at the institution's grand 700-seater auditorium.

The event was organized by the School 2 Association and sponsored by various notable personalities including i-fitness and Minimie. The evening celebrated the diverse talents of Lasustech students and sought to create awareness about critical social issues.

The event commenced with the resonating notes of the national and school anthems, harmoniously led by the host and co-host, AJ Pompey and Dunni Thomas. Distinguished guests, including CSP Adegbami Isiaka (DPO Sagamu) and Comrade Abdul Qudus, President of School 2, graced the occasion, along with other prominent Excos from School 2 Forum.

The esteemed panel of judges, featuring Sir Bola, a senior lecturer, and Chibuike, a talented vocalist and artiste, was also introduced.

Prior to the official start, Sofiat provided a concise overview of the School 2 movement's history, tracing its roots back to a small group of five students from the Computer Science department in 2018. Initially motivated by the desire for popularity and involvement in school politics, the group's objectives evolved as its membership grew.

The competition saw 18 contestants vying for the top prizes of ₦100,000, ₦50,000, and ₦40,000 for the first, second, and third runners-up respectively. Dazzling performances encompassed a wide spectrum of talents, from dance and singing to instrument-playing, including a quirky combination of nylon and comb.

Seven contestants emerged as semi-finalists, ultimately giving their final performances before the winners were chosen. Rapper Yung Tee secured third place, keyboardist Pelumi took second, and Tunexzy clinched the top spot. The event's sponsors, Zenith Bank and others, also rewarded participants with consolation prizes.

The event witnessed not only student performances but also guest appearances from social directors of various departments and up-and-coming artists. Entertainers like Tilesh, Boistixx, DJ Tuzo, Adebowale, and more set the stage ablaze with their electrifying acts.

The event concluded on a high note, with the judges themselves showcasing their own talents on the dance floor, while students and guests joined in the revelry.

In a speech that resonated with the attendees, CSP Adegbemi Isiaka, DPO of Sagamu Division, addressed pressing social concerns. He emphasized the fight against kidnapping, drug abuse, and the alarming "Egbon Adugbo" issue, assuring that collaboration with local authorities was underway to tackle the anomaly.

DPO Isiaka underscored the dire health consequences of drug abuse and urged students to uphold rules and regulations while staying vigilant against criminal activities. He exhorted them to report any suspicious behavior promptly.
