It has become a difficult struggle between paying high rent and enduring poor living conditions. Across First Gate, Second Gate, and Odogunyan, students are spending a significant part of their finances on rent, agent fees, and agreement charges. Yet, many still live in houses with poor maintenance, unreliable water supply, bad roads, and landlords who pay little attention to their welfare. Although, landlords and property agents insist that inflation and the increasing cost of building materials are responsible for the constant rise in rent, many students believe they are paying more without receiving better living conditions.
