  A POLITICAL STROKE TO GET OUR VOTE – LASPOTECH STUDENTS LAMENT                Photo:Adebayo Nurudeen Adebayo Nurudeen Lagos State Polytechnic students have lamented the timing of the buses donated by the Lagos State Governor- MR. Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The governor donated four fairly-used buses to the school earlier this month, as part of fulfilling part of his pledges to the school. It could be recalled that the Governor during a courtesy visit to the school last year, promised to provide means of transportation. “I understand you need a means of transportation from the Ikorodu campus to isolo, by the end of September the buses will be here,” He said.       SUG CELEBRATES RECTOR AT 52 Adebayo Nurudeen The Student Union Government led by Comrade Surakat Muftaudeen on the 14th of February 2023, alongside the president of each department   visited the polytechnic rector DR.Oluremi Nurudeen Olaleye to celebrate his birthday at the school’s annex, Isolo. Speaking on the celebration. Comrade surakat said, “ The records speak for themselves, he is a man who has impacted knowledge in the classroom, his leadership skills are second to none, and a role model to all”. The rector is a man of knowledge, man management, self-reliant said the president. Meanwhile, during the celebration, the rector advised the union to portray excellence and peaceful co-existence. Dr.Oluremi is an astute and amiable scholar, laspotech’s 11th rector, and the first acting Vice chancellor of lasustech.

  MACSA joins UNESCO in   celebration of World Radio Day photo: Ibukun Mercy By Adebayo Nurudeen The department of mass communication,  Lagos State University of Science and Technology, joined the  United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in celebration of e 12 th edition of world Radio day earlier this week. Tagged ‘Radio and Peace’  the annual celebration is usually held on the 13 th of February. The celebration saw members of the association rally around the school premises with handbills distributed to passers-by. Speaking on the celebration,  Mrs. Olubunmi Dipo-Adedoyin, a senior lecturer and acting station manager of lasusteth 101.9fm revealed the need to celebrate World Radio Day, stressing that it is a global event. “The celebration is global, as media practitioners, it is expedient for us to follow the trend as, radio is a grass root  media, affordable and cuts it across all ethnic groups.” She said....

The Union’s President, Surakat Muftaudeen made the appeal in a meeting held at the SUG building on Tuesday, 17 th of January, 2022 with departmental presidents and Head of Classes in the institution. It will be recalled, that Lagos State Polytechnic, LASPOTECH was transmuted to Lagos State University of Science and Technology, LASUSTECH following its accreditation by the National Universities Commission on February 2 nd , 2022. The SUG president urged the various Head of Classes to persuade their colleagues to resume back to school for the new academic session to avoid any clash with the newly established university’s students in terms of class allocation and social activities.
