LASUSTECH Releases Academic Calendar for 2024/2025 Session

The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), I korodu, has officially released its approved academic calendar for the 2024/2025 session. 

The calendar outlines key academic activities for both fresh and returning students across all colleges, from the first semester registration to examinations and the commencement of the second semester.
  
For 200-level and 300-level students, the session will begin with their registration between Monday, October 28, and Friday, November 8, 2024, while their lectures are scheduled to commence on Monday, November 4, 2024. 

Freah students in 100-level will also begin their academic activities simultaneously, registering between October 28 and December 6, 2024.

LASUSTECH will hold orientation programmes for fresh students from December 16 to December 20, 2024, followed by matriculation, which is slated for Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

The first semester lectures are expected to run for 12 weeks, concluding on Monday, January 17, 2025, after which revision will take place from Friday, February 7 to Friday, February 21, 2025. 

The first semester examinations will commence on Monday, January 20, 2025, and end on Friday, January 24, 2025. This will be followed by a semester break for students.

  
Second semester for 100-level and 200-level students begins with registration from Monday, February 24 to Friday, March 7, 2025. 

The first day of lectures for all students is scheduled for Monday, February 24, 2025, and the semester will span 12 weeks of instruction, ending on Friday, May 16, 2025. Revision for the second semester exams will be conducted from May 19 to May 23, 2025, with the exams commencing on Monday, May 26, 2025, and concluding on Friday, June 6, 2025.

For 300-level students, the calendar indicates that their second semester will also coincide with their Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES), scheduled to run for 12 weeks from Monday, June 16 to Friday, September 5, 2025. Following the SIWES programme, a brief holiday will be observed before the next academic session for 2025/2026 begins on Monday, September 15, 2025.
  
After the conclusion of each semester, there will be a period of two to three weeks dedicated to marking and processing of results. The consideration of results by departments and colleges will take place in February 2025 for the first semester and June 2025 for the second semester. A special Senate meeting will convene to consider these results shortly thereafter.

Additionally, the calendar outlines a long vacation for 300-level students following their SIWES period, before they transition into their final year in the 400-level.

LASUSTECH students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with this academic calendar to ensure smooth progress throughout the session.

LASUSTECH VC Meets Student Leaders Over Emmanuel’s Death, Accommodation Crisis

FEDSA-LASUSTECH Assembly Suspends President for One Week Over Misconduct

Habeeb Ibrahim  The It’s Federation of Epe Division Student Divisional Representative Council (FEDSA-DRC) of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has suspended its president, Obadina Habeeb, for one week following alleged misconduct during a parliamentary session. The decision was made during the second physical sitting of the assembly, held on Wednesday, 29th of January, 2025. The suspension, effective immediately, was initially proposed for two weeks by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Edu Shaffi Oladehinde, and seconded by the Chief Press Secretary, Hon. Hassan Taiwo Bisiriyu.  However, Hon. Adelaja Azanat opposed the motion, advocating for a lighter punishment, which included a one-week suspension along with an apology letter.
