LASUSTECH: Mass Comm Dept Welcomes Old and New Student

Our Reporter The Department of Mass Communication at Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has extended a warm welcome to all students for the 2024/2025 academic session, with special congratulations to the newly admitted students. In an address from the Head of the Department, Dr. Steven Anu' Adesemoye, new students were applauded for joining what he described as “the biggest and most celebrated academic family in LASUSTECH.” Returning students were greeted with hopes that their break was refreshing and that they had valuable time with family. Students who undertook Media Attachment programs were particularly acknowledged, as the department looks forward to seeing how their hands-on industry experience will enhance their classroom contributions. LASUSTECH Conducts Second Mock Accreditation for Key Programmes in CASS

By Our Reporters Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) commenced its second mock accreditation exercise, evaluating four undergraduate programmes under the College of Applied Social Sciences (CASS).  The programs reviewed include B.Sc. Mass Communication, B.Sc. Actuarial Science, B.Sc. Marketing, and B.Sc. Banking and Finance. This exercise highlights the institution's commitment to meeting accreditation standards and ensuring a high quality of education. The mock accreditation process, led by internal and external experts, involved thorough evaluations, interviews with department heads, and on-site inspections. The goal was to ensure that LASUSTECH's academic offerings meet the required standards to maintain both national and international recognition. LASUSTECH Releases Academic Calendar for 2024/2025 Session

Our Reporters  The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), I korodu, has officially released its approved academic calendar for the 2024/2025 session.  The calendar outlines key academic activities for both fresh and returning students across all colleges, from the first semester registration to examinations and the commencement of the second semester.    For 200-level and 300-level students, the session will begin with their registration between Monday, October 28, and Friday, November 8, 2024, while their lectures are scheduled to commence on Monday, November 4, 2024.  Freah students in 100-level will also begin their academic activities simultaneously, registering between October 28 and December 6, 2024. LASUSTECH will hold orientation programmes for fresh students from December 16 to December 20, 2024, followed by matriculation, which is slated for Wednesday, January 8, 2025. NANS JCC Lagos Axis Agitates Over High Rent and Tariffs in LASUSTECH Student Areas

Babajimi Benson, Chairman House Committee on Defence representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
