The Sky and its endless Wonders

Article  The Sky and its endless Wonders Ariel view of the Sky Photo: Getty Olashege Anizat Many must have wondered why the sky is blue? Why is it millions of miles away from the earth? The sky houses the sun, moon and stars. On a clear day the sky appears blue, at night it appears from very dark purple to black. At night the moon, planets and stars are similarly visible in the sky. Some of the natural phenomena seen in the sky are clouds, rainbows, aurorae, lighting and precipitation. In short, the sky is our window to the Galaxy. According to Andrew May (2022), the blueness of the sky during the day lies in the physics of when sunlight passes through the atmosphere. The light rays are scattered in all directions as they hit the air molecules, and light at the blue end of the spectrum is scattered stronger than other colors.  Moreover, certain birds and insects as well has human inventions like aircraft and kites all the sky as their host. It is a symbol of order in the un...

Students Corner: What Students miss when they fail to use School's Medical Facilities  Lasustech Medical Centre Photo: Safiu Kehinde  Gbadegesin Paul We took a survey to ask students what they do when ill; Visit the school’s medical center, go back home for parental or hostel mate attention or self medicate by purchasing drugs through pharmacy counters? Unfortunately, over 70% stay away from the medical center, which is one of the safest and cost effective of options. Upon admission into the institution, no student is exempted when it comes to school medical fees, filling the medical forms and submission for signatory at the medical center. However, most students exempt themselves when it comes to using the facilities. The only frequent time students use the center is when they have emergency cases, which leads to them being rushed to the school’s medical facility. I have used the school’s health facility on several occasions, and the class of treatment gotten would cost a wh...

Active comrades are one most popular students on campus, and this gives them levels of honour wherever they appear. Adams Oshiomole, former leader and advocate of The Nigeria Labour Congress, now current member of Nigeria's ruling party APC. His strifes and never give up prowess   gave him the key to governance in Edo state, and ...

Nigeria@62: The Struggle Continues

Opinion  Nigeria@62: The Struggle Continues Photo: Dreams time.com Omotosho Divine Happy new month to us all as I wish you good tidings. Also, happy birthday to our great country- though I don’t think there is any reason for us to be celebrating this country than for us to just thank God for the breath of life. Basically, we celebrate independence on account of the struggle of our past leaders which we should not just celebrate for pleasure but to think about the country situation- how far we have come and how far have we gone? Nelson Mandela said and I quote, “For to be free is not merely to cast off ones chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others”. Are we truly free? That is the question of the day. Is it in a country where poverty is a stakeholder or in this same country where corruption is in the DNA of our leaders and the unborn children or this same country where unemployment is the song of the day and inequality is the book we read as stude...
