LASUSTECH releases new anthem week after launching new website (see new lyrics below)

  • Campus' ariel view dons new website's homepage
  • No more "My LASPOTECH! My LASPOTECH!"

Safiu Kehinde

Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has released a new anthem one week after launching new website in preparation ahead of 2022/2023 session.

Following the transition from Lagos State Polytechnic (Laspotech) to University, the institution has ever since experienced changes across several sectors including last week's launching of the school’s new official website, www.lasustech.edu.ng ,with the new anthem adding to the collections.

Prior to the transition, the institution boasts of a well-versed anthem with energizing chorus that lit every students up.

However, significant changes have been melted on the anthem- although the rhythmic flow still remains intact.

Noticeable among the changes is the “My Laspotech! My Laspotech!!” chorus which is now converted to “My Lasustech! My Lasustech!!”.

Also, the second line of the first stanza has been changed from “The fountain of knowledge” to “Source and fountain of knowledge” while the last line of the  stanza changed from “Meet here” to “Converge here”

The second stanza was not left untouched as it saw 80 percent editing making it the most addressed stanza of the anthem.

See new anthem below (new changes underlined)

Here comes the moulder of life

Source and fountain of knowledge

We hail thee 4x

Bedrock of Technology

We salute thee 2x

Education and Dexterity

Converge here

Chorus:

My LASUSTECH!

My LASUSTECH!

My LASUSTECH is Excellence

Excellent is LASUSTECH!

LASUSTECH! LASUSTECH!

The University of Excellence

Ours is such a burning passion

For skills and good economy

Home of invention and ground breaking research

Grooming leaders and shaping lives

We strive to build a perfect world

Of excellence and integrity

We are real

Chorus:

My LASUSTECH!

My LASUSTECH!

My LASUSTECH is Excellence

Excellent is LASUSTECH!

LASUSTECH! LASUSTECH!

The University of Excellence
