THE PHONE by EDWIN ERIYE (SAGE)‎

Your initial intent was to make us close. 
Close to those who are geographically far from us
But you now keep us far from those.
Those whom we sit with in the same room

‎
Through your eyes the secret life of the user is exposed
Through your mouthpiece unimaginable lies are told
Through your parts fake lives are paraded on the social front

‎

You have created a sense of fast money to the young bloods
They seat around with you in their hands all day
Merging you with diabolic powers to get this fast money

What should I call this?
Your abuse or your redundancy
And am talking about the PHONE

Most of you act like you are in a relationship with your phones
Looking deep into its eyes for long hours
Getting various attires (pouch) for them
Charging them up with every window you get

When night falls
You carefully lay them beside you
When the sun rises
You reach for them first
They have become part of your body
You are not totally dressed without it in your back pocket

Yet something more relevant than this yearns for our attention
If only, if only
We would treat our BIBLES the way we treat our phones...

  Security Operatives walk out   Zenith Bank representatives from Classroom Safiu Kehinde Security Operatives attached to the School of Management and Business Studies (SMBS) allegedly walked out some representatives of Zenith bank from classroom earlier today. The incident which happened at the HND1 class of the Department of Business Administration, saw the representatives blowing hot at one of the security operatives who was also visibly hostile to them.
