LASUSTECH to Host Engagement Session on Ilera Eko Health Insurance Scheme

Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) will host an Engagement and Sensitisation Session on the Ilera Eko Health Insurance Scheme, as announced by the Directorate of Students’ Affairs (DSA), Dr. Ademola Aderogba.

The event, scheduled for Thursday, 29th May 2025, at 12:00 noon in the Agricultural Auditorium, is designed to educate students on the benefits of the Lagos State health insurance initiative and promote a culture of healthy living on campus.

According to Dr. Aderogba, the session will feature presentations from officials of the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) and LASUSTECH Health Services, offering students valuable insights into how the Ilera Eko scheme works, the medical services it covers, and how it can improve access to quality healthcare.

The DSA emphasized that the session will also highlight the connection between good health, academic performance, and overall well-being. All students are encouraged to attend and take full advantage of this opportunity to safeguard their health during their time at the university.

Students Barred from LASUSTECH First Gate Over Safety Concerns

The restriction led to confusion among students, who were subsequently directed by security personnel to use the Second Gate for entry into the campus. Speaking on the development, security officials disclosed that the action followed an incident that occurred around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, when a tension wire was reportedly cut from a pole and fell directly at the entrance of First Gate. LASUSTECH Announces February 13, 2027, for Maiden Convocation

The announcement was made by the Director of Student Affairs (DSA), Dr. Ademola Aderogba, during the first engagement meeting of the 2025/2026 academic session. The meeting featured the introduction of Heads of Class (HOCs) and representatives from various departments. Dr. Aderogba addressed issues relating to the academic session and outlined expectations for students. He presented an overview of academic results across colleges and departments, noting variations in performance. Students were advised to ensure lecturers are invited for scheduled lectures.
