LASUSTECH Management Assures Security Amidst Planned Protest

 By Habeeb Ibrahim Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) management met with 100 and 200 level class governors, and departmental presidents on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, to address concerns and provide guidance on key issues. Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Prof. Biodun Denloye, and Dean, Student's Affairs, Dr. Aderogba Ademola, led the meeting. The management focused on academic performance, urging students to prioritize their studies and attend classes regularly. They also emphasized the importance of adhering to the dress code and warned against engaging in protests, citing potential damages and loss of lives. Prior to the meeting, the management had assured students and staff of adequate security measures to ensure their safety and protection of property during the planned nationwide protest scheduled to begin on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Mass Comm to Face Accounting Department in Final Match of CASS Dean's Cup

  By Habeeb Ibrahim The Mass Communication and Accounting departments have emerged as the finalists in the College of Applied Social Science Dean's Cup. This was confirmed after the semifinal matches, where Accounting defeated Business Administration with a penalty shootout score of 4-3, after the game ended 0-0. Accounting's victory marked a significant milestone, as they traveled from the Isolo campus to defeat their opponents from the Surulere campus. In a separate semifinal match, Mass Communication secured their spot in the final with a penalty kick in the last three minutes of the game against the Banking team. The penalty was awarded after a foul by a Banking player injured a Mass Communication team member within the 18-yard box. Following the penalty, the Banking team prematurely ended the game, assuming it would be cancelled. Mass Communication Department Launches 'Touch Base Series' Seminar to Foster Academic Engagement and Student Success

By Habeeb Ibrahim   The Mass Communication Department of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) officially inaugurated the annual academic seminar named "Touch Base Series" on January 10, 2024. This seminar invites alumni of the department to educate students on academics and life after school. The 2024 seminar featured Dr. Kayode Odumboni, a former student of Lagos State Polytechnic, now called LASUSTECH. Dr. Odumboni graduated fifteen years ago with a National Diploma in Mass Communication before proceeding to the University of Lagos (UNILAG), where he earned a B.A. in English (First Class Honors). He recently completed his Ph.D. in English from The Ohio State University, Columbus, where he also earned his M.A. in English.
