Valentine's Day: "Celebrate wisely" – LASUSTECH DSA Urges Students

The Dean, Student Affairs (DSA) at Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Dr. Adedamola Aderogba had advised students to be careful during Valentine's Day celebrations. He emphasized that the day is not just about romance, parties, or alcohol but about celebrating oneself, friends, and family. 

Dr. Aderogba urges the students to avoid unhealthy relationships and prioritize safety stressing that, safety is more important than fleeting enjoyment. He also admonished them to "ZIP UP".

He further reiterated that parents are earnestly praying for the safety of their children at home why offering a piece of advice, "A word is enough for the wise."

Students Barred from LASUSTECH First Gate Over Safety Concerns

By Habeeb Ibrahim and Adefeso Precious Students of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) were on Monday morning restricted from accessing the campus through the First Gate, tagged as West Gate 1, due to safety concerns. The restriction led to confusion among students, who were subsequently directed by security personnel to use the Second Gate for entry into the campus. Speaking on the development, security officials disclosed that the action followed an incident that occurred around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, when a tension wire was reportedly cut from a pole and fell directly at the entrance of First Gate. According to the security personnel, the fallen wire posed a potential risk of injury, electric shock, or sparks to students and other individuals passing through the gate. LASUSTECH VC Meets Student Leaders Over Emmanuel’s Death, Accommodation Crisis
