We are here to  interpret the constitution of the union and give legal advice - C.J . oyebade

Adebayo Nurudeen

The head of the Students’ Union Judicial Council  (SUJC) Chief Justice Isaac Oyebade has vowed perform his duty of interpreting  the constitution of the union.

In an interview with the school’s Press club, Oyebade explained his plans, tagged “Power of the SUJC”.

The SUJC which is an arm of the Students’ Union Government of the school is been saddled with the responsibility of solving issues concerning disputes among students, harassment, and giving legal advice.

“A graphic has been disseminated to every department in the school detailing the functions and power of SUJC”.

“Once you are a member of the union, you have access to the constitution, and having this stipulates what is expected of you.”

“I will organize a seminar for all school representatives to be well informed about the union.” He said.

The chief judge also explained the delay in the selection of departmental justice as a result of the election break and the absence of the ND2 student on campus.

“Due to the ND2 on Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES), some departments it is difficult to select a representative from their level.”

“we will be going from ND 2 and HND 2 of each faculty to let them know that this arm is functioning, a weekly visit will be initiated, aggressive evangelism, and the target is to reach a minimum of 1000 students within the campus”.

However, he debunked the rumors that the previous regime did not solve any case and said “Two to three cases were resolved among the students”.
