The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Laspotech chapter, has held its first annual Ramadan lecture and iftar program. 

The Ramadan Lecture, which was held at the school's central mosque commenced in the evening on Tuesday and was attended by scores of students in the school.

The program coordinator, Fesomu Yusuf Ademola commenced the program by reciting “AL MATHUURAAT” a prayer book before introducing the guest lecturer ALHAJI YEKIN MONSUR to the audience.

ALHAJI YEKIN MONSUR, preached on how to scale through the values of CORRUPTION when we find ourselves in one.

“Corruption is anything that goes against the rules of ALLAH, anything that is contrary to what is stipulated by ALLAH” the punishment of corrupters is destruction”

“Shytan will take the bad things and give them a good name so humans can be attracted to it”

“Virtually corruption exists in every feed set of our daily life and as Muslims, we are expected to wipe out corruption completely, if we can’t we should have at least try and wipe it out to a large extend by not joining the bad wagons, Muslims should be a role model to the corrupter to emulate from our good characters” Alhaji Yekin expressed.

He also listed the five ways of moving out of corruption as a Muslim, which include; believing in the pillars of Islam, association with good company, Listening to the world of ALLAH, remaining steadfast, and putting all hope in ALLAH.

Olabode Yahaya a student from the department of mechanical engineering disclosed that he learned that anything contrary to the will of ALLAH is corruption.

Rukayat from the business administration department said the lecturer shed light on her doubt and she now understands that there is no shortcut to success.

Amir Fesomu Yusuf Ademola, the coordinator said the program is organized every Ramadan for students to propagate Islam and increase their spirituality.

“It is also about relieving those students that are not buoyant enough to feed themselves in this month of Ramadan, identifying them and assisting them with relieve packages,” He said.

The program is scheduled to hold every Tuesday and Thursday in the first 20 days of Ramadan.

NELFUND: LASUSTECH Receives ₦112M, Contradicting Initial ₦7.8M for 82 Students

By Habeeb Ibrahim     The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has acknowledged the receipt of ₦112,057,000.00 (One Hundred and Twelve Million, Fifty-Seven Thousand Naira Only) from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).  The funds were allocated to 1,233 students under the NELFUND student loan program.
