SUG warns students against attending Laycon’s live performance

LASUSTECH Student Union Government has issued stern warning to students against attending Laycon’s live performance at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.

In a disclaimer circulated by the union, the event scheduled for Sunday, 13th March, 2022, is not acknowledged by the School Management as well as the students’ governing body. This is coming few days after the Directorate of Students Affairs addressed all Heads of Class and Departmental Executives against plans to organize Freshers Night and other orientation activities.

“Sequel to the meeting held by the Directorate of Students' Affairs at the Union building on Wednesday 9th of March, 2022, we therefore implore students not to attend the above program due to high rate of kidnapping and forceful initiation that is rampant in our society.” The statement read.

Laycon, the winner of Big Brother Naija season 5, is expected to perform at tomorrow’s Nigeria National League match between Sporting Lagos and Nnewi United FC at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

According to a broadcast message earlier distributed across several students' WhatsApp platforms, free bus and food will be made available for students to watch Laycon’s performance. The musician will entertain the spectators during the half-time break with about One million Naira giveaways set to be won.

As contained in the disclaimer signed by the SUG President, Comr. Balogun Aderemi and the Union’s PRO, Comr. Adesina Wonuola, any student found attending the program will be brought to book.
