Lagos State University of Science and Technology has reduced the initially increased third party fee while returning tuition fee to its initial rate for the 2021/2022 session.

According to a circulated statement by the Students' Union Publication Secretary,  the increment in third party fee has been reduced from 12,500 Naira to 9000 Naira. The new development also saw the school fees returned from #28,500 to #27,500 for HND2 students while the ND2 are to pay #17,450.

Meanwhile, the school fees for newly admitted ND students stand at N33,500. Their HND counterparts, however, saw some noticeable alterations in their school fees. Diplomats are to pay a sum of 38,500 Naira while Non-diplomats will cough out 45,000 naira.

As signed by the SUG President, Comrade Balogun Aderemi, and PRO, Comrade Adesina Wonuola, the Students Union Government warned against making any payment other than the ones provided in the Union’s statement. They also emphasized on the non-refundable policy of the institution.

“Fees paid are not refundable under any circumstances. Any payment other than the above stated should not be made.” The statement read.

In retrospect to the increment, when admitted by the management earlier this year, the students stood against the sudden development, forcing the SUG to engage in a dialogue with the school management as they sought reduction.

Few days ago, Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had. He was welcomed with heavy chants from the students who called for a reduction in the tuition fee.

Though the fees have been reduced, but the third-party reduction is yet to reflect on students portal which some consider as an error to be rectified by the school’s ICT members of personnel.
