"RELEASE OUR WHITE PAPER" LASPOTECH CRIES TO LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT.

"Release our white paper, white paper is our life", this was the statement  on the lips of every academic and non-academic staff of Lagos State Polytechnic when she held a one-day prayer session at LASPOTECH podium.

It was noted that the institution started having issues since 2017 under the last administration and it resulted in the dismissal, demotion, unjust treatment of staff and reduction of salaries for some staff.

However, the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-olu organized and sent a "visitation panel" to investigate the problems of the institution after listening to the pleas of the new Rector, Dr Oluremi Nurudeen Olaleye and his governing council.

The "visitation panel" investigation started in October 2019 and submitted their reports to the governor February 2020 and the school has been waiting for the release of the "white paper" since then.

The "white paper" which is the solution to the school's problem contains the re-calling of dismissed staff, reversal of demotion, returning of justice for staff who has been unjustly punished and funds for the institution.

After waiting for about a year and some months filled with struggles to get the "white paper" from the Lagos State Government, the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics(ASUP), Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics (SSANIP) and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) decided to come together and go on their knees, praying to God so that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will answer them.
