LASPOTECH dismisses 202 students over Cultism, Exam Malpractices

The management of the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu, led by the rector, Mr Samuel Sogunro, on Wednesday, 10th of May 2018 at the 8th Congregation held at the 700 Seater Auditorium, Ikorodu campus of the institution has announced the dismissal of  the total number of 183 Students for cultism and 19 others for examination malpractice since the inception of his administration over two years ago.

The rector while giving a breakdown of how he has led the affairs of the Polytechnic since the commencement of his administration in june 2015, gave the breakdown in his report that 116 National Diploma Students has been dissmised for cultism and 67 Higher National Diploma has also been dismissed for their involvement in cult realated issues.

According to Mr. Sogunro " in the last three years, 183 numbers of students has been dismissed on cult related activities, the present administration has zero tolerance for cultism."
He further disclosed that 19 students have also been dismissed for examination malpractice which includes 10 National Diploma and 9 Higher National Diploma students.

Mr. Sogunro also stressed the management commitment to its staff career advancement during the past years.

" The Polytechnic Management is not relenting on its effort on staff career advancement. Basically, it is one of the best ways to sustain and improve the competence of personnel in producing skilled and practical-oriented middle and high level manpower for commerce and industry". He noted.

The rector also promised to commence on projects like the construction of the school of Agriculture Administration Building, departmental building of Agricultural Technology, Hospitality Management Technology Demonstration Centre and Department of Mass communication Building. He said this is in a bid to enhance the institution's infrastructure.

Students Barred from LASUSTECH First Gate Over Safety Concerns
