NULASS inaugurates new executives

The National Union of Lagos State Students, Lagos State Polytechnic chapter,  has inaugurated its new executive members ahead of the 2022/2023 academic session.

The inauguration was held on  Friday, 31st of March, at the Environmental theatre hall.

The newly inaugurated executives include; Oduga Fawaz Olamilekan, (president), Lateef Quadri ( vice president), Yusuf Temitope Esther (General secretary), Keshinro Abdulazeez  (Ass. Gen. Sec), Victor Adeshubomi Solomon  (Speaker), Usman Ibrahim oladipupo (Deputy Speaker), Oluwole Zeenat (Welfare 1), Ojikutu Mariam (Welfare 2), Hassan Zainab Ajoke ( Social director 1), Semako Segun Isaac (Social director 2), Hunpe Yemaren Gabriel (P.R.O)  among others.

Speaking at the event, Comrade Adewale Smart former President, advised the new executives on how to multitask and ensuring unity.

“As members of  NULASS , unity is the only key to the growth and success of the union and being members of the union , you should be good at multi tasking , that is being able to handle few executives duties should incase you find yourself in an emergency situation.”

“To the  upcoming executives, whatever you give and how effective you're in the union will determine the progress of the union. Support and sacrifices to the aim and objective of the union, be transparent and make sure you reflect a good account of yourself because everything you do would let the whole Nulassite know how your tenure had been" He said. 

Speaking at the event,  Doctor Kuye, the school’s  Public Relation Officer who is also a lagosian  encouraged the executives to speak to their course mates and postulate to them the benefits of being a lagosian.

“I would like to focus my speech on the president, you should be good with managing your executives and members".

“Your corporation with the executives as the president matters. Be responsible to the activities of the union". DR. KUYE said.

Following his speech, the newly elected Nulass executives came out as comrades Nulassite Smith Modinat president for 2021/2022 anchored the oath section in order to properly swear in the newly elected president and executives.

NELFUND: LASUSTECH Receives ₦112M, Contradicting Initial ₦7.8M for 82 Students

By Habeeb Ibrahim     The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has acknowledged the receipt of ₦112,057,000.00 (One Hundred and Twelve Million, Fifty-Seven Thousand Naira Only) from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).  The funds were allocated to 1,233 students under the NELFUND student loan program. This announcement contradicts an earlier statement by NELFUND, which indicated that only 82 LASUSTECH students would benefit from a total disbursement of ₦7,853,000.
