The Lagos State University of Science and Technology has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SGH Warsaw School of Economics to establish academic and research collaboration between both institutions.
In a statement signed by Mr ‘Lanre Kuye of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, LASUSTECH, the agreement was described as part of the university’s efforts to strengthen its international academic presence and expand opportunities for students and staff.
The agreement was signed on Monday, 11 May 2026, at the SGH campus in Warsaw by LASUSTECH Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya, and SGH Rector, Professor Piotr Wachowiak.
The LASUSTECH delegation included Professor Olumuyiwa Olamade, Dean of the College of Applied Social Sciences, and Dr Ayo Eso of the Department of Economics. The delegation visited the institution from May 11 to May 14, 2026, to discuss implementation plans for the partnership.
According to the university, the collaboration will focus on staff exchange, visiting lectureships, student exchange programmes, and joint research initiatives. Areas identified for collaboration include financial inclusion, the digital economy, development economics, and African business environments.

Under the arrangement, eligible LASUSTECH students will have access to short-term exchange opportunities at SGH Warsaw, while faculty members from both institutions will participate in collaborative teaching and research activities.
The university also stated that the partnership would allow LASUSTECH to benchmark some of its academic programmes against internationally accredited standards.
Founded in 1906, SGH Warsaw School of Economics is one of Poland’s leading business schools and educates more than 10,000 students annually. The institution completed the Triple Crown of Accreditation in 2025 through AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS accreditations.
LASUSTECH noted that the partnership also provides opportunities for access to research resources, including SGH’s economics library and European academic funding channels such as the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) and Horizon Europe programmes.
Speaking on the development, Vice-Chancellor Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya described the agreement as part of LASUSTECH’s strategy to strengthen its international academic presence.
Dean of the College of Applied Social Sciences, Professor Olumuyiwa Olamade, said the partnership would contribute to curriculum development, faculty growth, and student advancement within the college.
