The event took place at the ikorodu Campus of the department of Mass Communication. The eight main team was led by the Director of academic planning,(DAP) Lagos State University (LASU),Dr O.M Olanrewaju. The exercise was to prepare the department for the school accreditation exercise later in the year by the Nigerian University Commission (NUC).

FEDSA LASUSTECH Inaugurates Newly Elected Executives Alongside Ramadan Lecture

Dignitaries in attendance included Mr. Adekoya Isaac, the staff adviser, and Uzthaz Mustapha Adeniyi Shittu. Uzthaz Mustapha Adeniyi Shittu delivered the Ramadan lecture titled "Leadership and Its Responsibility: The Panacea to Youth Social Vices," highlighting six crucial qualities of effective leadership: truthfulness, acceptance of criticism, bravery, active listening, mindful behavior, and empathy. AFYMP Trains LASUSTECH Students in Content Creation and News Writing

Ibrahim Habeeb and Ajide Muminat The Africa Foundation for Young Media Professionals (AFYMP) recently conducted a training session at Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) to equip mass communication students with skills in content creation and news writing. Mr. Yinka Olaito, the speaker, commenced by citing examples of journalists who initially doubted their potential but eventually excelled, such as Komlar Dumor from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).  He emphasized the importance of continuous self-improvement and consistency, stating, "The ability to fact-check issues is what defines you as a journalist, it's one thing to tell a story, but another to get it right. You can't be an international journalist without starting at the local level." Stating that "all institutions and working sectors should only be going to work on monday to wednesday to save cost of transportation and other expenses  LASUSTECH as an institution also follow this order, providing privilege of thursday and friday for Students to read ahead of their next class. It was announced in LASUSTECH Isolo campus on Tuesday 29th of February 2024, left ikorodu students in anticipation before the  information was passed across to all the HODs and HOCs of each department in their respective college. Governor Sanwo-Olu Pledges To Increase Bursary And Scholarship For Indigene Students

By Ibrahim Habeeb and Nurudeen Adebayo The Governor of Lagos State,  Babajide Sanwo-Olu has pledged to increase bursaries, scholarships, and scholarships for physically challenged and less privileged indigenes and non-indigenes of Lagos State. He said this at a one-day interactive session  with student union leaders and stakeholders in the education sector at  the   Lagos State Secrteriat, Alausa, Ikeja. The  Governor,  promised to increase bursaries from ₦50,000 to ₦60,000 and scholarship from ₦200,000 to ₦225,000. LASUSTECH Appoints Executive Committee For Student Consultative Assembly

The decision was reached during a meeting held on January 3, 2024, with the Dean of Students Affairs and 200 level Class Governors. Following this, in a subsequent meeting on March 4, 2024, the Executive Committee for SCA was appointed and approved by the university's management. The committee members are as follows: Chairman : Dave Gabriel from the College of Environmental (Urban and Regional Planning).
