LaspoSUG Urges  Students to Remain Calm  Amidst Certificate Fee Increment

The Lagos State Polytechnic Student Union government has urged the students to embrace peace and trust them amidst the certificate fee increase by the school management.


The School management early last week sent a Memorandum stating the fee will be increased from 5000 naira to 30, 000 naira, which has caused distress among the students.

There have been speculations on campus that students want to wage a protest from Ikorodu to Isolo Campus.

SUG President Surakat Muftaudeen while addressing Laspotech Press Club yesterday said the stand of the union is there should be no increment and there are plans to make things right.

His words "We just received the memo last week and we’ve made our stand clear to the management, that we the students are not going to accept any increment but we still need to dialogue on it, that is why we have consolidation and consideration.

"So on the note, please stay calm while your representatives dialogue with the management and make it clear to them our stand on this matter. We will be on our way to isolo to meet with the rector who is our direct boss and the theme is “no toasting.

"However, let’s go back home to tell our people the stand of the union and the stand of each student in Laspotech that we are not going to accept any increment. I am not saying we should not fight for your fight, I am imploring everyone to  give the management a chance to reconsider." He concluded.

Meanwhile, an inconclusive closed-door meeting was held yesterday with the rector, Dr.Oluremi Nurudeen.

    Laspotech management only care about their pocket nothing for the students.

Students Barred from LASUSTECH First Gate Over Safety Concerns

LASUSTECH Announces February 13, 2027, for Maiden Convocation

The announcement was made by the Director of Student Affairs (DSA), Dr. Ademola Aderogba, during the first engagement meeting of the 2025/2026 academic session. The meeting featured the introduction of Heads of Class (HOCs) and representatives from various departments.
