LASPOSUG League: Hassan Quadri’s Matchday One Hattrick Sparks Season to Life

It was drama, delight and despair as School of Communication and Liberal Studies flagged off their LASPOSUG league campaign with a scintillating performance; firing four unreplied goals behind the net in what ended as a demolition, destruction and annihilation of the School of Technology team.

Three of the four goals came from the Mass Communication talisman, Hassan Quadri who was assisted twice by teammate and birthday boy, Towolawi Samod.

Earlier on matchday one, two-time champions SMBS, Isolo ran away with a two-goal victory over defending champions, School of Agriculture as an own goal by Korede in the first half and a rocket freekick by Sanya in the dying minutes of the game ensured that SMBS, Isolo would not regret travelling to Ikorodu on the first matchday.

The match between School of Engineering and School of Pure and Applied Sciences which promised to be a fierce fight and a festival of goals ended ironically in a goalless stalemate. While School of Environmental’s early goal was enough to see them garner all three points against a resilient SMBS, Ikorodu side.

A novelty match between the Students’ Union Executives and Judiciary Council and the Students’ Representative council ended one goal to nil in favour of the SUE/SUJC. The only goal coming from a penalty kick by the Sports Director, Yusuf in the first half.

At the end of matchday one, School of Communication and Liberal Studies sits uncomfortably at the top of the log with just a four goal difference ahead of SMBS, Isolo who will be trading tackles with SMBS, Ikorodu in a highly anticipated debut next week. School of Technology trails at the bottom of the log with a negative four-goal difference as they look forward to getting redemption on matchday two.
