LASUSTECH Mass Comm' Launches Subsidized Meal Program for Students

By Habeeb Ibrahim The Department of Mass Communication at Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has launched a subsidized meal initiative to support indigent students during the examination period. The initiative officially began on Saturday, March 1, 2025, and is set to take full effect on Monday, March 3, 2025. The program is designed to provide financial relief to students facing economic hardship and ensure they have access to nutritious meals throughout the 10-day examination period. Students who wish to benefit from the initiative must follow specific steps. First, they need to confirm their eligibility by meeting with their Level Adviser. After verification, they will receive a subsidized meal ticket from their Level Adviser. Lagos State University of Science and Technology Donates Medical Supplies to Kolak Hospital

Our Reporters Lambo Lasunwon, ikorodu – In a bid to support healthcare delivery, Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) organized a medical outreach at Kolak Hospital, Lambo Lasunwon, where essential medical supplies were donated to the hospital. During the event, the coordinator, speaking on behalf of the university, presented 200 pieces of syringes and cotton wool to the hospital. In his speech, he stated: "On behalf of Lagos State University of Science and Technology, we would like to donate 200 pieces of syringes and cotton wool to Kolak Hospital." The outreach aimed to strengthen healthcare services and contribute to patient care within the community. Hospital representatives expressed gratitude for the gesture, highlighting the importance of such collaborations in improving medical services. This initiative reflects LASUSTECH’s commitment to community service and healthcare support, reinforcing its role in promoting public health and well-being.

"Mind Your Business," LASUSTECH Vice-Chancellor Advises Matriculating Students

By Habeeb Ibrahim and Odelusi Abraham  "Mind your business," Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya, Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), advised students during the university’s third matriculation ceremony since its establishment in February 2022. The event took place at 500-seater Auditorium in Ikorodu campus. The ceremony started with the introduction of key university officers. After the Vice-Chancellor officially declared the event open, goodwill messages were delivered to the students. LASUSTECH Welcomes Fresh Students of College of Environmental Science

In an opening address delivered by Dr Oladayo Ibrahim, the head of department of Urban and Regional Planning, on behalf of the Dean of the college, Prof. Ayodeji Oladipupo Date-Abel, he expressed gratitude to God for the life of all present and officially welcomed the fresh students to the college, and also the returning students. LASUSTECH Hosts Mentorship Programme for Female Students

Jahriat Aminu The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) held a mentorship programme for its female students on Wednesday at the 500-seater auditorium, College of Agriculture. The event was hosted by Professor Olubunmi Temilade Abebi, Chairperson of the Sexual Harassment Committee and a lecturer in the College of Agriculture, alongside nine other lecturers, including Mrs. Aribigbe, Head of the Mathematics Department, and Dr. (Mrs.) Olubiyi Olatokunbo, Deputy Registrar, Student Affairs Unit. In her opening remarks, Professor Abebi welcomed the students and introduced the objectives of the programme, stating, "We are here to mentor you academically, spiritually, and in all aspects of life." LASUSTECH Students Educated on Safety Measures Following Tragic Death of Colleague

Odeyemi Ibukunoluwa   In response to the tragic death of Emmanuel, a 100-level Mathematics student who fell from a faulty railing due to poor hostel maintenance, the leadership of the National Association of Science Students (NASS), College of Basic Science (CBS), organized a safety awareness gathering on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. The event, held at the CBS complex, aimed to educate students on safety precautions when securing off-campus accommodation. Speaking at the gathering, College President Comr. Agbalah Gift Isaiah, Social Director Comr. Edu Shaffi Oladehinde, Public Relations Officer Comr. Leo, and LSCA representative Comr.
