LASUSTECH Mass Comm Ladies to be Empowered with Free Business Courses

Jobberman has partnered with Arifu to offer free online business courses to Mass Communication ladies of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), in a bid to equip female students with essential business skills.

The courses will be available for both business owners and beginners who aspire to own their very own business. The courses will be available on Whatsapp through their phones.

Dr. Steven Adesemoye, the HOD for mass communication department, Mrs Bridget Adegboye, a lecturer in the department , and other female students representing the boss ladies addressed the 100level mass communication students, in his words, Dr Steven mentioned that the courses were made free because they were "compulsory" for the semester. He encouraged the ladies to participate as they could learn anywhere with their phones.
Mrs Bridget while addressing the ladies also said that the courses were easily understood and made readily available, showing her certificate of completion, she proved how she could finish a course over the weekend, reassuring the students on the courses simplicity.

Students showed interest by applying almost immediately, Im an interview with Miss Oduyebo Phoebe a 100 level mass communication student, she revealed how she's had begun her courses on Whatsapp, she shared that she was a small business owner who desired better income.
The course "Start your business" cover topics like Traits that make a business owner shine, covering traits like commitment, resourcefulness, risk taking, community building, financial savvy, and Passion & resilience. 

Other topic under the course include Finding your business, Market research, Business planning, and Funding your business. All beneficial courses for the students.

NELFUND: LASUSTECH Receives ₦112M, Contradicting Initial ₦7.8M for 82 Students

By Habeeb Ibrahim     The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has acknowledged the receipt of ₦112,057,000.00 (One Hundred and Twelve Million, Fifty-Seven Thousand Naira Only) from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).  The funds were allocated to 1,233 students under the NELFUND student loan program. This announcement contradicts an earlier statement by NELFUND, which indicated that only 82 LASUSTECH students would benefit from a total disbursement of ₦7,853,000.
