The football final, held on Thursday, was a nail-biting affair that saw the College of Engineering clinch victory against the College of Basic Science after a tense penalty shootout.

This thrilling match was a highlight of the event, showcasing the skills and determination of the student-athletes.

In addition to football, the VC's Cup also celebrated the achievements of students in other sports.

The chess competition crowned Ehondor Micheal Ojo and Marvelous Enjo Emmanuel as the male champions, while Agbabiaka Martha took the top spot in the female category.

In scrabble, Francis Aro, Samson Hassan, and Ola Odeyemi Sogo emerged victorious among the male competitors, with Agboola Munirat and Ndubisi Jennifer Oyindamola excelling in the female division.

The tennis event saw impressive performances from Adeniji Samuel, Saka Daniel, and Oseni Jamiu.

"This event is a testament to the brand we are building here at LASUSTECH. Our students have shown not only academic excellence but also outstanding co-curricular abilities, which are crucial in today's world," he remarked.

Dr. Ademola further encouraged students to channel their energy into productive activities, emphasizing that these experiences can benefit both the individuals and the institution as a whole. "Students should focus on co-curricular activities that will positively impact their future, rather than engaging in unproductive social activities," he added.

Omolola Emmanuel Oluwadamilare, the SCA Sports Director, expressed his satisfaction with the event's success, while also calling attention to the need for better sports facilities and improved officiating.

"I am amazed by the level of participation and talent displayed across all sports. However, there is room for improvement in our sports facilities and officiating standards," he said.

Coach Idrees Abdul Lateef of the Engineering team echoed these sentiments, advising his players to maintain their hard work and calling for enhanced support from the university's sports administration.

"We need better officials and facilities to ensure a safer and more competitive environment for our athletes," he noted.

The VC's Cup was not just a showcase of athletic prowess but also a celebration of the spirit of unity and excellence that defines LASUSTECH
