100 Level Defeats 200 Level Mass Communication Students 4-3

100 level student of the department of Mass Communication, Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH ) beat their 200 level counterpart by 4-3 goal at a novelty Match. 

The match which was played at the ikorodu Campus of the school was organised by Peripasa a non governmental organisation. Both team played a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time that resulted in penalty kick.

The 200 level student opened score in the second half of the keenly contested match, while the 100 level student equalised just at the nick of time to drag the game into penalty kick.


Salvador Idris, Kazeem Gafar, Akinde Marvelous, Azeez Mubarak And Oluebube Adewale played the penalty shoot-out for 200 level student with 3 penalty goals while Okedoyin Gabriel, Ogunlade Toluwalope, Adebayo Feranmi, Olakunle Rafiu And Shokoua Opemipo played the penalty shoot-out  for 100 level players with 4 penalty goals for them. 


The match was brought to an end at exactly 2:57pm with extreme jubilation from the players and spectators.

Before the commencement of the match, Peripesa company manager, Mr. Damilare Obadiah spoke with both team members and encouraged them to play the match to the best of their ability. He promised to make any team that wins the company’s football team and also a sum of fifty thousand naira. 


In an interview with Bunmi Adeyera, one of Peripesa organiser, he stressed that the game is just a competition and not a battle, students are only engaged in this activity in other to encourage them. "Well it's a game of competition and we are happy that our youths are been engaged productively. In the case of football game like this of course someone must win, a winner must emerge.

'We are proud we are able to do this as a brand so let them keep a flag flying and let them keep it the best way they can".


I'm an interview with 100 level coach, Fatoyinbo Ibrahim he said, "I feel so excited about the success and the outcome of the match because in every football match, there will always be a winner and I am happy that the winning skills tilt to us first and we are happy for the outcome. 

"Being a coach, the only thing I can say is that we don't judge ourselves, we encourage ourselves. And football is a team work not an individual work so we just have to inspire ourselves to play as a team.

"In life, there will always be one winner, because it fell or tilted toward our own path today doesn't mean that is everything, tomorrow it might be on their path. So they should just go back to learn from their weaknesses. 

"While they are also learning, we are also improving on our strategy to be better. So it's a wonderful event overall and we thank the sponsor for the initiative and their donation too". He concluded.




In an interview with Adewale Ebube, 200 level goal keeper, he said: We have good players but we didn't start with them early, it was after the second half that we realised that we have good players. We should have started with them from first half and the players that are not really good will join in second half. But we try anyways.


Rafiu Olakunle, One of the players 100 level team said, “ I feel so excited because we won with penalty and penalty being a game of luck, I believe luck was on our side”. 

In another interview with the referee, Mr. Olayinka, he said “ the game is nice one and I am happy it ended f. Majority of the spectators and players thought I was being biased on the field but I only wanted the coaches of both teams to stick to the rules of the match”.

Students Barred from LASUSTECH First Gate Over Safety Concerns

The restriction led to confusion among students, who were subsequently directed by security personnel to use the Second Gate for entry into the campus. LASUSTECH Announces February 13, 2027, for Maiden Convocation

The announcement was made by the Director of Student Affairs (DSA), Dr. Ademola Aderogba, during the first engagement meeting of the 2025/2026 academic session. The meeting featured the introduction of Heads of Class (HOCs) and representatives from various departments.
