LASEPA Advises Lagos Residents Of Hazardous Air

By Adeyemi Oluwanifemi  Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), has revealed that the Air Quality in some areas of Lagos State is hazardous  and unhealthy. An index released by LASEPA over the weekend, shows that areas across Lagos like Ojo, Shomolu, Ketu and Ikorodu environments are very damaging and harmful. LASEPA has thereby admonished everyone to be careful and advised parents, careers and child minders to be more involved in the well-being of children and adults as well. According to LASEPA, some precautions are to be made in order to prevent any form of disease/ailment. These precautions include: Using of nose mask when going out, dressing in layers to prevent cold, staying hydrated, fruits and vegetables intake to boost immunity, well ventilated rooms and offices and to also pay attention to health, body changes and to seek prompt medical attention when necessary. LASUSTECH Open Portal For Registration On The Intervention Of The Vice Chancellor

By Ibrahim Habeeb The online registration portal at Lagos State University Of Science And Technology (LASUSTECH) was temporarily shut down, causing confusion and frustration for students who were unable to register for courses.  However, thanks to the intervention of the University's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olumuyiwa Omotola Odusanya, the portal has been reopened and students are now able to register for their courses. The Vice Chancellor graciously approved the extension of registration and payment of school fees till 2nd of February, planned as the final extension.  The information was contained in a release dropped by the Directorate Of Student Affairs, Dr. Ademola Aderogba stating that "the portal was reported to have been shut down and students could not do their course registration as we instructed them. Okeowo Bags Doctoral Degree

By Ibrahim Habeeb and Ajide Muminat Taiwo Okeowo a lecturer in the department of Mass Communication, Lagos state university of science and technology has been conferred with a doctor of philosophy.  He completed his programme at the Lagos state university (LASU) after successfully defended his thesis on Framing of farmers and herdsmen’s conflicts in selected Nigerian Newspapers (2020-2021) on Thursday 25th of January, 2024 bringing the number of doctoral degree holders among academic staffs in the department to 3. The viva oral defense featured a number of distinguished academics, including Dr. T.OS Owolabi, the head of department of journalism, and Dr. Julius Adeyemo, his dissertation supervisor. National Female Students Association of Nigeria (NFSAN) Holds Election in Lagos State.

Ibrahim Habeeb  Ekundayo Titilayo has emerged as the new chairperson of the National Female Student Association of Nigeria (NFSAN).  Ekundayo poll a total of twenty votes to defeat her closest rival Olukolu Nimotallah Omowunmi, who poll eleven votes while two votes were voided. The election was conducted at LASUSTECH SUG building over the weekend. During an interview session with the Chairperson - elect Comrade Ekundayo Titilayo, "I'm proud and happy today and I want to assure every woman out there that I won't fail you. The event aimed to inform returning students about career specifications and choices in their chosen field. The event featured senior lecturers in the department, including the Head of Department, Dr. Prosper Zannu, Mr. Sammy Ogunsanya, Mr. Olugbenga Akanmu, Mr. Bidemi Balogun, Mrs. Olayinka Idowu, Mr. Hassan Nurudeen, Mr. Agogo, Mrs. Bridget, and the host, Mr. Ibrahim Fatoyinbo. Mrs. Olayinka Idowu, the Course Advisor, introduced the students to the purpose of the seminar, advising them to make wise choices as these decisions would be irreversible.
