New Departments emerge as NUC approves 37 Take-Off Programmes for LASUSTECH (See Full List) Safiu Kehinde Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) have seen the emergence of new departments ahead of the 2022/2023 academic session as the National University Commission (NUC) approved 37 Take-Off Programmes for the Institution. As contained in last week’s edition of LASUSTECH newsflash issued by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, the initial 33 Take-Off Programmes proposed by the institution increased to 37 following the inclusion of Industrial Chemistry, Physics with Electronics, Industrial Mathematics, Zoology, and Botany. The newly included programmes would have made it 38 Take-Off programmes in total, but the removal of Animal Breeding and Genetics reduced it to 37. Unfortunately, over 70% stay away from the medical center, which is one of the safest and cost effective of options. Upon admission into the institution, no student is exempted when it comes to school medical fees, filling the medical forms and submission for signatory at the medical center. However, most students exempt themselves when it comes to using the facilities. The only frequent time students use the center is when they have emergency cases, which leads to them being rushed to the school’s medical facility.
