RSW sensitization train stops at LASPOTECH: set to prepare students for the world of work upon graduation

The train of ReadySetWork Sensitization (RSW) tour will stop at Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu on Monday 9, 2018 at the School of Agriculture Lecture Theatre,500 seaters.
The event is aimed at creating awareness for ReadySetWork amongst final year students as well as enlightening and educating them on how to maximize the opportunities it offers.
The RSW team led by the Special Adviser on Education, Mr. Obafela Bank-Olemoh will address the students-the primary beneficiaries of the ReadySetWork project on the plans for 2018 and how they should key in to it.


The Special Adviser disclosing the plans for 2018 at the kickoff of the sensitization tour at Lagos State University (LASU) said that 25,000 students from 8 schools will be trained this year. He said that the additional schools are Yaba College of Technology and the private institution, Caleb University. “While 5000 final year students will partake in the campus classes this year, 20,000 students in their penultimate year will be trained via the RSW Online Academy.” 
While addressing the students, he stressed the fact that they as well as other students in Tertiary Institutions in Lagos State are the most privileged among their peers anywhere in the Country. 
"The mandate of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to us is to ensure that every student in Lagos State Tertiary Institutions goes through the ReadySetWork Programme and is adequately prepared for the world of work upon graduation.” 
“Last year, we trained 12,000 students from 6 institutions including Lagos State University (LASU), Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED), Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED), Lagos State College of Health technology (LASCOHET) and University of Lagos (UNILAG). 10,000 students were trained on the RSW Online Academy and 2000 in the campus classes. As we speak, close to 1,000 of these students have been placed on paid internship in different companies like PwC, FCMB, Total, as well as over 80 SMEs in the State and the feedbacks we are getting have been very encouraging.” Mr. Bank-Olemoh explained.
The sensitization tour which kicked off on Tuesday 20, March 2018 at LASU, Ojo campus stopped at LASCOHET, Yaba and UNILAG, Akoka on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 respectively.
