Biolatiri Adedamola It was yet another sad story recorded this week in the State, this time, a trailer plying the Ikorodu-Shagamu road collided with two motorcyclists carrying a pregnant mother and her child to death at Flourmills, few meters away from Lagos State Polytechnic's second gate, along Odogunyan road, Ikorodu lagos. The accident according to a bike rider who pleaded anonymity took place late Saturday noon. It was also gathered that the accident was as a result of the driver trying to navigate the bad road before it eventually flipped and crushed the motorcyclists, woman and child beneath it, tearing them in pieces, as they lay in the pool of their blood. Amosu Jeremiah The Management of the Lagos State Polytechnic has on Friday 29th June 2018 announced the 2nd -22nd of July as dates for the 2018/2019 National Diploma (ND) Admission Screening Exercise. Eligible candidates who chose Lagos State Polytechnic in 2018/2019 UTME and obtained the minimum UTME score of 150 in addition to having the required relevant 0’level credit as contained in the JAMB Brochure are hereby invited to participate in the screening exercise. According to the management, candidates are expected to make an online payment of ₦2,000 (Two Thousand Naira Only), this is inclusive of administrative, bank and online charges. The management of the Lagos State Polytechnic has announced the appointment of Dr. Michael Adeniyi, a Principal Lecturer in the School of Pure and Applied Science as the new Admission Committee Chairman and Engr. Abdulakeem B.  Ogunbajo, a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering was also appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the committee. According to information gathered from the Information and Public Relations Unit of the polytechnic, the rector Mr Samuel O. The software was developed by the Directorate of ICT, Dr. Adegoke Abisoye in order to make life easier for students to meet up with the academic world technological development.

Earlier this week, it was reported on the social media space that President Buhari has declared June 12 as the new democracy day to honour late MKO Abiola who was the acclaimed winner of the 1993 presidential election. A lot of reactions have trailed this development as several citizens wondered if another holiday will be declared on June 12 to celebrate Democracy day, since  May 29 was duly observed. The President, Muhammadu Buhari has however broken silence over the issue amidst rumours, that there won't be any holiday again for democracy day, neither will there be any other holiday for the day until future years. It would be recalled that Several commendations and backlash greeted the new democracy day from leaders, Citizens, Senior advocate.
