For the very first time in this country, we have recorded high inflation, poor standard of living, strikes from officers of various sectors, fuel scarcity, poor power supply and high crime rate.  Right before our eyes our nation is failing and the labor of our heroes' past is being jeopardized by some set of  rancorous elites, politicians or powerful men, who lack basic knowledge on how to run the affairs of a country.  According to Martin Luther king jr. The endless row of vehicles and kegs has drastically reduced following weeks of fuel scarcity that left millions of Nigeria at the mercy of hyperinflated black market. Rejoinder: Press Club changes cover picture of SUG story earlier reported The attention of the Press Club has been drawn to the usage of the Students Representative Council picture and has been pulled down with immediate effect in an SUG related story published on 12th February, 2022. Our sincere apologies to the Students Representative Council. The story came as a matter of immediacy associated with news reporting and a symbol of the Union was required which prompted the usage.  SUG warns students against attending Laycon’s live performance Safiu Kehinde LASUSTECH Student Union Government has issued stern warning to students against attending Laycon’s live performance at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere. In a disclaimer circulated by the union, the event scheduled for Sunday, 13th March, 2022, is not acknowledged by the School Management as well as the students’ governing body. This is coming few days after the Directorate of Students Affairs addressed all Heads of Class and Departmental Executives against plans to organize Freshers Night and other orientation activities. “Sequel to the meeting held by the Directorate of Students' Affairs at the Union building on Wednesday 9th of March, 2022, we therefore implore students not to attend the above program due to high rate of kidnapping and forceful initiation that is rampant in our society.” The statement read. Oladayo Ibrahim , has condemned the organization of Freshers Night and other Orientation programs. Speaking at the Students Union Government's building while addressing all Heads of Class and Students Executives at an emergency meeting yesterday, the DSA disclosed that his attention was drawn to the several departmental association's plan to conduct Freshers’ night for newly admitted students. He strongly condemned the plan, noting that it is a breeding ground for cultists to recruit members.   News LASUSTECH slashes third party fee while tuition fee returns to normal Safiu Kehinde Lagos State University of Science and Technology has reduced the initially increased third party fee while returning tuition fee to its initial rate for the 2021/2022 session. According to a circulated statement by the Students' Union Publication Secretary,   the increment in third party fee has been reduced from 12,500 Naira to 9000 Naira. The new development also saw the school fees returned from #28,500 to #27,500 for HND2 students while the ND2 are to pay #17,450. Meanwhile, the school fees for newly admitted ND students stand at N33,500. Their HND counterparts, however, saw some noticeable alterations in their school fees. Diplomats are to pay a sum of 38,500 Naira while Non-diplomats will cough out 45,000 naira.
