  NAOSS LASUSTECH Postpones Ogun Tour 2025 — President Oláníyì Apologizes, Begs Students to Participate By Kazeem Ramotallahi   The National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS), Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) Chapter, has announced the postponement of its highly anticipated Ogun Tour 2025 from June 13–15 to June 20–22, 2025.   The change was necessary due to the unavailability of key dignitaries, including HRM Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo CFR (Alake of Egbaland) and the Commissioner for Tourism and Culture, Hon. “We’ve Paid for Your Medical Treatments” – LASUSTECH VC Urges Students to Use Health Insurance  By Ademuyiwa   Balikis, Odelusi Abraham The Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya, has urged students to take advantage of the Ilera Eko Health Insurance Scheme, saying the university pays an annual premium on their behalf to ensure access to medical care. Professor Odusanya made this known on Thursday during a sensitization program on the Ilera Eko initiative, organized by the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) at the LASUSTECH campus in Ikorodu. Oro Festival: LASUSTECH to Close Campus on Tuesday, May 27 Over Safety Concerns

By Ademuyiwa Balikis and Habeeb Ibrahim  In anticipation of the upcoming Oro Festival scheduled to hold in Ikorodu and surrounding areas on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the management of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has announced that the university will close for physical activities on that day. According to a statement signed by the university management, the closure is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and staff, especially females, during the cultural event which traditionally restricts the movement of women. “All students of the University are advised to stay off campus and remain indoors on that day,” the statement reads. The university further noted that female staff members who feel unsafe coming to work are permitted to work remotely from home. While the physical campus will be shut, lectures for the day are to be held only virtually, without tests or Continuous Assessments (CAs), although assignments may be given. Despite t...
