The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has recorded another major milestone in its academic development, securing full accreditation for 13 out of 14 undergraduate programmes presented during the 2025 accreditation exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC). The remaining programme received interim accreditation, reinforcing the institution’s strong performance across its academic offerings.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olumuyiwa Omotola Odusanya, who disclosed the outcome, described the results as a reflection of the university’s commitment to quality assurance, academic excellence, and continuous institutional growth. According to the breakdown, programmes across multiple colleges performed impressively. In the College of Basic Sciences, Industrial Mathematics earned full accreditation. The College of Applied Social Sciences saw both Insurance and Tourism and Hospitality Management fully accredited. Similarly, all programmes presented in the College of Environmental Design and Technology—Estate Management and Valuation, Quantity Surveying, Building Technology, and Urban and Regional Planning—secured full accreditation.
The College of Engineering and Technology also recorded a strong showing, with Food Science and Bio-Technology, Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering, Civil and Construction Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering all receiving full accreditation. Electrical and Electronics Engineering was the only programme granted interim accreditation. In a related development, the university also obtained full accreditation for its Architecture programme from the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria, further strengthening its professional credibility.
With this latest outcome, LASUSTECH has now successfully secured accreditation for all 39 programmes it has presented since its establishment, without recording any failure. The Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation to staff and students for their dedication and contributions to the achievement, urging the university community to sustain the momentum and intensify preparations ahead of the 2026 accreditation exercise.
