Uboh-Ekong Treasure Bisiriyu Hassan Taiwo, The Chief Press Secretary of the Federation of Epe Division Students Association (FEDSA) at LASUSTECH, hosted a webinar aimed at educating students on how to balance academic responsibilities with unionism. The virtual event, themed “Balancing Academics with Unionism,” featured two guest speakers: Mr. Ibrahim Fatoyinbo, a lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication at LASUSTECH, and Ambassador Biliamin Olalekan Oba, Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on  Youth and Social Development. Otufodunrin, who is the Executive Director of Media Career Development Network and a former online editor at The Nation Newspaper, gave the advice during the Lateef Kayode Jakande Memorial Media Roundtable held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the university’s Ikorodu campus. “We’ve Paid for Your Medical Treatments” – LASUSTECH VC Urges Students to Use Health Insurance  By Ademuyiwa   Balikis, Odelusi Abraham The Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya, has urged students to take advantage of the Ilera Eko Health Insurance Scheme, saying the university pays an annual premium on their behalf to ensure access to medical care. Professor Odusanya made this known on Thursday during a sensitization program on the Ilera Eko initiative, organized by the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) at the LASUSTECH campus in Ikorodu. "Prevention is better, faster, more effective, and cheaper than cure," he said. "Each year, we pay a premium for students to access medical care at accredited healthcare providers.
